In part. He made a few huge mistakes himself and perhaps under estimated the huge task he had taken on.
Sadly, for Roy, who comes across as a nice bloke, he’s become the blame for all our on the field failings. The bottom line is the current squad isn't up to the job.
I think we’re heading for a 12-18 month period in the wilderness and I hope the next manager gets some support from our fans, otherwise we'll turn into the next Newcastle.
If he has gone - thank god..
But i truly feel sorry for him.. he took the reigns with glee and who wouldn't, but the job as many of us predicted was too big for him..
I pray whoever comes in can do something to restore us back to greatness, we are truly on a downer at the moment ..
I pray that the new guy is given time. He'll need it, and lots.

That post doesn't vindicate Rafa or make him seem like a god to me, he failed in his last season because he just snapped and lost the plot.. that was his biggest mistake in his tenure. To me it's understandable why he did finally lose it, but it cost us too much. And as for Stevie, I still don't see how people don't realize he isn't that good played as a CM, the media works wonders it seems. I've always said I never liked Gerrard as a captain and his personality/selfishness is something I have always frowned upon so anything like this coming out doesn't surprise me personally. Stevie's one and only downfall has always been his selfishness whether you wanna accept it or not and I firmly believe that we'd be better off if he were sold and replaced, as long as the replacement was a quality player. Buuut that's just me, I've always been critical of Steven because he could and should be so much more for us, especially in the past two seasons when we desperately needed cohesiveness and someone to bring us all together. He could have easily been the guy to put his foot down in the press or back Rafa or tell the lads to step up but he didn't do a single thing. Everyone would have followed him, too. Instead he divided an already split squad and pushed everyone further and further away, isolating himself as he always has.

I thought Deschamps had said he deffo does not want to leave his current club.
I think he could be a good manager for us, where have you heard that he wants to come?

Well hang on its hardly proof of anything. I think it was interesting, if very very slanted in rafa's favour, I refuse to believe doctors and medical staff would lie about Torres's fitness, that is extremely serious if true and they would loose their licenses etc. I also find the Crouch story a bit weird as Rafa clearly didn't rate or play him enough.
The fact that Twit and tw@t were arseh0les is hardly a revelation and neither is the fact that Stevie can be a bit of a pr1ck.
