Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I doubt he'll go before sunday and I doubt he'll go on monday as the likes of Barnes, McManaman and Keegan will no doubt claim he was on a hiding to nothing at Old Trafford. I suspect Liverpool may win at Blackpool, the derby and the other game in hand at home Fulham and old Woy will be in charge until the end of the season. I just don't think the owners want to be labelled the Mike Ashley of the northwest and clearly don't want Kenny in charge at any cost.

now we are gonna have to listen to whiskey nose in his press conference rattling on about how this club is :censored: and we have destroyed the reputation of a fine manager,if he is gone before the game purple nose will throw everything at us trying to give us a right hammering or if roy is here i expect taggart wont be as anxious and will field a weaker team as he wont want to be the one that ultimately signs hodgsons fate.

i honestly hope we go there and fcuking stuff the manc t.w@ts

don't we all?  ???
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

There is some truth in this. See, there may actually be rational justification for not pulling the trigger right now. Sure, they could install Kenny for the OT game, and he could inspire the lads to a big win. On the other hand, what are the chances that he (or someone else) comes in, the team gets creamed by the Mancs, and the unrest starts all over again.

And this talk about relegation is frankly ridiculous. For illustrative purposes its fine to complain that we are closer to the relegation zone than the top four, but seriously...we're not getting relegated, that's just alarmism at its worst.  Let's thank our lucky stars that some of the posters around here aren't in charge of the club. I'll take cool and calm deliberation over reactionary shoot-first-ask-questions-later execs.

whichisfair wrote:So I don't post here much, but I can't help myself now given the recent hysteria surrounding the reds and Roy Hodgson. I would like to make a few points:

1) I, like most, would like to see Roy sacked, and sooner rather than later. However, I fail to understand the vitriol with which he is attacked by LFC fans. The insinuations that he is in cahoots with Sir Alex, etc. are just ridiculous. The man's obviously trying his best and is certainly not deliberately throwing games. There is a right way and a wrong way to call for the sacking of a manager. The fact is that as long as he's here we're in this together. When he does get the sack, we should all act with a little bit of dignity, thank the man for his efforts, and move on. Acting like he is purposely trying to sabotage the club is pointless, juvenile, and counterproductive, not to mention it tarnishes the reputation of the so-called greatest fans in the world.

2) Attacking Henry, Werner, and NESV. This makes little to no sense. Sure, I would have loved to see the axe fall after the Wolves game, but in the grand scheme of things, IT DOESN'T REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE. It is next to impossible that we finish in the top four, even with a new manager installed immediately, and it is equally unlikely that we will be relegated, even if Hodgson is given the rest of the season. Sure, we may finish mid-table, but what's the difference between 8th and 12th at this point? The season is lost; we need to accept that, as NESV have obviously done, and start thinking about next year. I don't think Roy will last the season, and I'm certain he won't be in charge for our next campaign. The timing at this point is almost irrelevant. I would much rather NESV take their tame and make sure they do things the right way than shoot from the hip like the last cowboys we had here. NESV is a proven sports management outfit, they are not buyout-leverage merchants like we had before, and I have confidence that they understand the nature of the LONG-TERM plan needed to get this club back to where it belongs.

3) Protests. Please, please, please, people, don't march in front of Anfield or Melwood or wherever demanding the owners sack Hodgson. It's just stupid, and it's not on. HE IS ALREADY GOING TO BE SACKED, and THE SEASON IS ALREADY LOST. These are inevitabilities, and such protests and marches make us all look like stupid immature reactionaries.

In summary, I would plead with all LFC fans to be patient, get behind the team and NESV, and cut all the vitriol and personal attacks. Just chill.

Oh, and Hodgson out.

theres not a big difference between 8th and 12th amte but theres a massive difference between 12th and relegation.

The post above yours is a good one. Curb your impatience with NESV because the change will happen. Whether it comes tonight, tomorrow, next week, next month or at the outer limit, the end of the season, it will take place. It makes too little sense from NESV's perspective to hang on to a manager who is so unpopular with the supporters. Without a unified support, their plans for the club will never come to fruition, it's as simple as that.

Yes.... lets all thank our lucky stars that certain posters aren't the custodians of this great club ,because that would mean they would possibly stick with this fool until the last of the supporters that follow the Reds  dissipate completely ....surely even an untrained eye can see how the dwindling crowd would be detrimental to the club ...I mean how many posters who advocate giving Hodgson more time really have the best interests of the club at heart ..... every minute he spends at this club is a another minute dismantling  the legendary ethos that used to surround Anfield .... but then maybe that's precisely  where the problem lies ...in exactly how many posters are willing  to forget ....forget how singing and chanting the word Liverpool really felt ...how Kenny used to make us feel ....how the pride swelled in our collective chests ,how the thought of travelling to an opponents ground never left us breaking out in a cold sweat the night before .... how the arrogance of knowing we would hit back with a vengeance like a prize fighter after a defeat .....Yes we had players willing to run through brick walls .....but we also had Great Managers who would give them the belief they could perform miracles ...we had managers  who would make us fans feel ten ft tall even after a defeat .....we had managers we believed in ...
has everyone forgot how Kenny  gave us all those things ,the man would sooner cut his own throat than discredit this club ...... maybe people need to remember this..... ?

Get to feck the Fergie Wine club Gang  :no

The LMA has, for some reason, chosen tonight to issue an "open letter to the media", pleading to owners to think twice before sacking managers, to set proper and reasonable objectives and measure management performance over a period of time, while offering full support and backing to allow the manager to perform

Fuck off !!!
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
