Benny The Noon wrote:1. So you think he has done a decent job yet he has broken every worst record possible at the club

Worst start for 20 years
Lowest position in league for 20 years
Worst position in the league at xmas for 50 years
Lowest points total at the turn of the year for 50 years
In the relegation zone for nearly 30 years

If that is decent what is poor

2. The best around at the time ? Pellegrini is one name that sticks out, Even Daggers would both of done a better job

What different circumstances is there - it doesnt matter who the previous manager was - the hard facts show its nowhere near good enough , its extremely poor , he was given money - over 20 million , everything he has done has been wrong , and to top it all off he has slated players and fans and his words to the media have been shocking .

What exactly in the whole time he has been with us has he done right because i see nothing .

As you have told us many, many times
Not that I was talking to you, but I will respond out of courtesy.
I dont give a david moyes about statistics. If I do look, I look at the positive ones not the negative. If we should finish higher than last season will you say hes an amazing manager because of the start weve had? I very much doubt it.
Nobody can prove anyone would have done better than Hodgson after taking over from Benitez. You can guess but you have no evidence that anyone would have taken us up the league. I firmly believe we had to go down before we came back up. As has happened.
As for the rest of your rant. It very much does matter who the previous manager was, as much as you try to pretend it doesnt, as the fans have made it matter. I have admitted it hasnt been good or great, but to lay in 9th after the start weve had (see statistics) and the way weve played is a decent return for me. And all this "slated" players and fans is the usual over-reactive, hysterical, fire starting language weve all come to expect. I am a fan and I dont feel Ive been slated.
Under the circumstances I see this as the situation we would be in at this point in the season. 3 points tonight and we move up the table to 8th, one point behid Bolton with a game in hand. Win against Blackpool and we could be up to 6th! Yes 6th!
Happy days could be here again...

Can you sack a manager at half time.
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

I recall some manager being sacked at half time earlier/last season, just can't remember who.
