Sorry but  ???
the fact that he was sacked from a team which had just won the treble, i.e a bloody good team and squad, after just 6 months is all the proof I, and most sane people, will ever need to proove that he failed in SerieA and is not a patch on Maureen and most other top managers.

Like I said 6 months is only half the season ,so unless your the resident forum clairvoyant ,then you would be only speculating to how the Italian season as a whole would have panned out
Galling isn't it  :D ... now do you understand ?

Well judging by his last season for us AND the first 6 months of his time at Inter i would suggest a clairyoyant would not be required to determine how things would have panned out.

Sane people Haaaa!! You mean them who walk round with heads stuck up their :censored:.

From Rory Smith in an article about how Rafa divides opinion. It is actually a balanced piece talking about how the different fractions view Rafa.

"There is one point that all should be able to agree on, though, including Benitez himself. The biggest mistake he made this year, these 12 months he will long to forget, was agreeing to succeed Jose Mourinho in June. As one of his staff at San Siro remarked, the Inter job was “un caramello avellenato.” A poisoned sweet. Tasty from the outside, rotten at the core.

Being appointed manager of the most successful club side in the world may appear a sinecure, a matter simply of keeping things ticking over, but Inter, as of the end of the Champions League final seven months ago, were a side built for the past. Most of their first XI, the Mourinho stalwarts, were past their prime, exhausted from producing one final push to further the mystique surrounding the Portuguese. Massimo Moratti, Inter’s owner, was tired of spending money after 15 years of profligate dreaming. The club was sated. There was no hunger left. Into the end of the banquet walked Benitez, entirely famished. It was never likely to work."

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/sport....-divide

If Maureen ever came to us and worked his proven system he would ruin us because we would not have the cash to rebuild when after a couple of years, he cleared off leaving us with a set of aging has beens, just like Inter.

The level of ignorance in this place is astounding sometimes.

Its b'llocks and you know it.

We will see what the has beens do if and when Rafa is finally gone.
Such convenience to blame everything on tiredness after last season and totally exonerate Rafa of any poor management

Do we take the current incumbents last 6 months at Fulham and his disgraceful away record into account also then Ben ?

he's not blameless but in all fairness he has been without maicon, lucio, samuel, chivu, cambiasso, stankovic, sjneider and milito for most of the season. he's had no option but to play some of the kids and that would have been the case if he'd stayed aswell because inter can't afford to buy anyone. they're heavily in debt and with the new financial regulations coming into play they'd be screwed if they kept going the way they were. i don't like the way he's always making excuses and blaming somebody else though. it does get a bit tiresome. he knew the situation fully when he went there.

Yeah Ben, a respected writer wrote a balanced piece covering 2 sides of an arguement then just decided to stick a load of bollox in the middle! Make me laugh you lot, just cos something doesn't back your arguement & flatter your ego it's bollox ZZzzzzz

Nothing's black & white and it doesn't actually say he is completely blameless, just that it was always going to be difficult. I'm sure Rafa has made mistakes there just like all managers do.

Why does Hodgson get dragged into this RBG? One does not always have to be used in defense against the other.

Do you want to know what in my opinion was the biggest mistake Rafa made at Inter Milan? Trying to convince a team of seasoned campaigners that had just won every trophy available to them that changing their playing style was going to be benifical to them. If he had thought to himself "If it aint broke dont fix it" he could have smoothly guided them through this 1st year and had them there or there abouts at the end of the season. Then he could have went about creating his own side but he wanted to do it his way, which in many ways is commenable and shows how much he believes in his system but a personally I think in doing so he made a huge error. I love the man for all he did here but so many times his stubborness has been a massive albatross around his neck

The part I quoted is a centrepice, supposedly undisputable common ground of a 2 sided argument, you need to read the link.

I dont need to read anything.

I read your post, that was not in any way balanced. It offered weak excuses for a manager that has took a side that have won the league 5 seasons in a row into struggling to make the europa league spots.

There is no excuse at all.
