woof woof ! wrote:Don't all jump on me at once BUT ...... Why are so many people professesing publicly their sorrow at this poor mans death ?

People were blown up this morning in the mid east , I haven't seen any expressions of sorrow or regret in this forum
. I have great sympathy for anyone who is murdered and especially those who'se lives have been taken in such a grusome and horrific fashion regardless of where they came from.

Sorry people I find the posts in here regarding this mans death trite and distasteful. Most of you (not all ) don't really give a fck , so why pretend that you do ?
:(

Woof, with respect mate, whilst ion theory you make a valid point, in practice it is a totally stupid comment.

As human beings we can only react to the news we hear on a day to day basis, the fact is if I trawled through all the obituaries (spelling?) around the world on horrible and unecessary deaths, the post would be absolutely ridiculously long.

This man was taken with no apparent political axe to grind, paraded and degraded in front of millions of people around the world, and then killed (all be it unconfirmed) if you think the horrible death of Ken Bigley (a local man from Liverpool) is not topical for this forum, and say 'The Real World' thread is or 'The spanish armada hunks' thread is e.t.c., then well...............what can i say?     :(

True woof but Kenneth Bigley is from Liverpool so it kinda brings the whole thing more into focus for everyone. With all due respect to the Israelis and Egyptians who were killed this morning very few people would have anythig in common or anything to relate to these people. Mr. Bigleys death will not make the slightest difference to how I continue my day but I'd still like to express my sympathy with the family in relation to this.

Sorry Woof but am with Maximus to a point although we should never forget about the reasons we are in this situation to begin with.

Those who have their points and issues fair enough but there should always be time to grieve for a fellow countryman and show our respects

Loads of issue but they can be put to one side for a bit

Reports are saying they've beheaded him.

I have seen this happen to one of the American hostages a couple of weeks back and it is just the most sickening thing.  Bunch of ba$tards.  In whose name or for what cause do they do this?  I will never be needing to see anything like that again.  It is a sad day for the city of Liverpool.

Maximus, just a couple of points on my as you put it  "stupid comment " and your response to it.

1, I never suggested that the unconfirmed death of a liverpool man was not a relevant topic on an LFC forum.

2,I quite clearly said "most of you (NOT ALL) dont really give a fck.

Naturally many people especially those in Liverpool will "feel" keenly the (unconfirmed) death of Mr Bigley and my post was not in any way aimed at those people .However many people express their sorrow and regret and two minutes later are busy in another part of this forum having a laugh and a joke. Personally I find that distasteful , disrespectful and insensitive.
I am not questioning the right of anyone to comment on Mr Bigleys (unconfirmed) death . I am questioning their sincerity.

I'm not insensitive.

I feel sorry for his family even if I do go straight to the WWBB thread from here.

I've said my little piece on this thread now, I started it because I wanted to say something about it, no matter how small.

And I do feel better for starting it.  The whole world will be giving their condolences to the Bigley family.  This is where our lfc-newkit community can do it.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family and indeed Mr Bigleys friends at this unbearably sad time.

I pray it is not true however.
