LIVERPOOL FC's new Spanish contingent have stars in their eyes and reckon they can rock to the top.
Striker Luis Garcia has stocked up on state-of-the-art guitar equipment to start jamming after matches and entertaining team mates. He has emerged as the Reds ' rocker with plans to make sweet music both on and off the pitch.
Garcia, 26, has made several trips to Curly Music in Ranelagh Street, along with team mate Xabi Alonso, and splashed out thousands of pounds on a Washburn guitar and music equipment.
A spokesman for Curly Music said: "Luis has come in a couple of times for bits and pieces. He came in with Xabi a couple of weeks back. We spotted them straight away." On his first trip, Garcia spent £1,700.
Manager Rafael Benitez is also hitting the right notes in Liverpool, admitting to being a massive Beatles fan.
He also says he is learning English by listening to Beatles lyrics.
With four Spanish signings and Benitez, they could put a band together. With Luis on guitar, Rafa on tambourine, Antonio Nunez on drums and Josemi on vocals they could prove a bigger hit than John Barnes with his chart topper World in Motion with New Order in 1990.
Lifelong Liverpool fan and season ticket holder Dave Rankin, of Crosby, said: "If Luis plays guitar as well as he plays football he will be great. I think he shows real promise asa player and he has fitted in well. I would love to hear him
