Is that the "Taj " hotel in Bombay ? Once spent a night there, or to be more accurate, I once spent a night OUTSIDE there. Flew into Bombay at 4am and took a cab to the "Gate of India" to wait for the sun to come up before I looked for a "cheap" hotel. Got surrounded by RATS the size of f'uckin' pit bull terriers !, thank f'uck the dawn broke before they could jump me.

Took a bit of searching but here's the only "Palace" I've ever stayed in.

It's a house boat on Lake Dal. Kashmir.

I spent a miserable December there (deep winter in Kashmir) back in '76

Thanfully the stuff they gave me to smoke did make the palace rock.

by the way, the palace i went to is the Emirates palace in Abu Dhabi, absolutely fantastic place to visit.
