Rafa benitez appreciation thread - Part 2

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

Guys, we won't go anywhere with this lame @ss debate, if pro-rafa thinks that his heart is not with Inter, fine, thats their opinion, whatever, I'm not bothered to argue or even point out on their flaws regarding the slagging off the current manager, because its really not worth it.

IMO, Benitez is under preforming with Inter, he has one of the best squads in Europe but he can't get a win together. Whether that will change or not, time will tell, but I'll tell you this alot of Inter fans are becoming impatient, they have to improve.

I dont watch it no, but Ill be fucked if i let complete and utter gobshites rip the p!ss out of a manager that won us the CL for keeps and the FA Cup, plus got us beating the biggest teams in europe.

I am still very fond of them, but he has gone now i know for 100% fact that his wife is home sick for her house on merseyside, and I will not stand by and let people buzz off him when my club is a fucking joke at the minute.

We are in no position to laugh at anyone, cant even take the p!ss out the mongrels cause we are just as bad as them !!!

So, we can only take the pi$$ out of Roy in the Roy thread is that correct? our own manager. pfffft. hypocrisy at it's best that.

im not arguing, or starting a flame war, simply saying that you gotta watch serie a or some form of italian football to comment on how Rafa is pregressing (or not) as a manager! to state you dont watch it, you shouldnt really have much to say, just like i wont post in a fishing thread, as i no longer fish!

The excuses for Benitez don't make me laugh, they make me sad. Until people can let it go about him, the club will never move forward regardless of who the manager is. If he can take over a team which was the champions of everything, have a start like he's had and they STILL can't accept that he's not doing very well, it really doesn't bode well for the future.

I think he brainwashed everyone, all this "he gets us" nonsense. So does Stan Boardman I should think, but we don't put him in charge do we.

that should've applied before sacking Rafa...

It did

:)

Mick, you sat on your high horse and say things like what went on in the Roy Hodgson forum must be a new low even for this forum. If that is the case, you should read your posts in this thread and be ashamed of yourself. And now you're intentionally misquoting me as well trying your p1ss-take. How shameful, how shameful...

Regardless of how Rafa does at Inter, he was still a great Liverpool manager for 5 years at least and that will never change.  And its really sad that its some of our own fans that refuse to acknowledge that.  He inherited a terrible squad and made us a super power in Europe without spending stupid amounts of money like Chelsea and City.

We qualified for the champions league 5 out of 6 times.  Got to the knock out stages every year until last year.  We won it and were runners up in 07.  We twice broke our points record in the premier league.  won an FA Cup, challenged for the title.  We did well enough in the PL, considering the resources of other clubs.  If it wasn't for Rafa, the pair of cancerous c.unts might still own the club.  And he helped get Jose sacked by out foxing him a fair few times in Europe. :)

Personally i believe Rafa deserves his legendary status in Liverpool.  I saw that stupid thread were some of our own fans voted Rafa as our worst manager since Dalglish!  Thats just ridiculous. (although maybe Rocky has some alter egos).

Rafa also proved that he is a top class manager at another top club.  (Valencia).  FWIW, i think he'll do a good job at Inter but will never get the support from their fans.

One of Rafa's biggest flaws towards the end was his bad transfers.  He seemed to stop raiding Spain for players.  Maybe the scouts had a part to play.

But had he not of being sacked, i think it would be interesting to see how he'd do with this Damien lad taking on the transfers.

Seriosuly I'm all for respecting other peoples point of view, especially senior members, but I don't think I have seen a single sensible post from him.

There was a thread with a poll the other day called "Worst manager since Dalglish" or something like that.

7 people voted for Rafa!

The last part of your post is probably a non starter, as i doubt Rafa would have stayed had he been told that Comolli was coming in to deal with transfers.

Think its hard to disagree with that Ben - i dont think he would of liked working with someone who dealt with the transfers - unless they got on together and both wanted the same players etc

mmm.. I dont think Benitez was a great manager for us... He had his moments but i certainly wouldnt describe his tenure or achievements as 'great' !

A better point would be people not acknowledging what he's done for the club and the great moments he's offered us from time to time... For that, I (and im sure everyone else) would be forever grateful .

Great manager for Liverpool though ? not for me..
