Out of Hodgson and Benitez, it's going to be very interesting to see who gets sacked first. Benitez has taken the five times consecutive league champions and current European champions to fifth in the Italian League table, six points behind the leaders which is no mean feat after 12 matches. The players are according to reports fecked off with him already. Hodgson has taken the team which finished 7th in the league last season down even further to 10th, and once again if reports are to be believed, some of the players are fecked off with him. We know many Liverpool fans are fecked off with Hodgson, but I've no idea whether or not the Inter fans are enjoying the novelty of not p!ssing the league as they usually do or not.

Meanwhile Inter will get out of the group in the Champions League I should think, and we will continue to meander along in the Europa League Cup. We got beat by our local rivals for the first time in years, and tonight so did they.

They're absolutely neck and neck at the moment, who's your money on?

I don't think you can really compare the 2 situations Mick. The expectations this season at Inter was obviously to win the league and CL and as has already been pointed out he was always going to be in a no win situation whatever happened. Win and it would be Mourinhos squad, lose and he messed it all up.

We on he other hand were just trying to break back into the top 4. If Hodgsen finishes 8th this season will that be his career all time high finish?

The difference between the 2 Mick is that Rafa will probably go onto manage another European heavyweight next, probably Real Madrid and Hodgsen will probably either go back to managing a bottom half table side or worse, a Scandinavian team that no one has heard of, again.

Yeah get him back sharpish fecking hell

bit early to right of Inter yet, there not exactly miles of the pace and there doing well in the champions league. Rafa's gonna have to improve things though if he dosnt want two sackings in 2 seasons

No, Rafa shouldn't come back. Thanks for the CL win and other select memories....

I was interested to see how things unfolded for him at Inter because many believe 'give him the money' and he's your man or 'with the right players at his disposal' he'll suceed. The Inter job will really tell you whether he is the man because at LFC our owners made it difficult to really gauge the job he was doing.

I've read too the reports about 'unrest' in the dressing room at Inter and this is another interesting point. It's been banded about that Gerrard and Carragher were the 'main instigators' in his departure. Did they after 5-6 years give up on him leading to unrest and Rafa's relationship with them deteriorated.

A few of the players that have come and gone under Rafa have made soundbites about him and his personna. At the time many fans would say ah, he's just bitter because he's not a Liverpool anymore. Players like Crouch, Pennant, Benayoun and a couple of other who I cannot remember off the top of my head right now, were lambasted for airing anything in the public light that made Rafa look bad. Coupled with this, the apparent 'instigators' nearing the end of his tenure wanted him out (Gerrard & Carragher). It started to play on my mind a little bit that Rafa himself maybe the conductor and provoker of these negative views/relationships. Even though many of our fans wouldn't hear a bad word against him.

Now though he's at another club and there seems to be a pattern emerging where Rafa isn't the little angel he's made out to be by some of our more hardcore supporters.

As you said Bunglemark, thanks for CL, FA cup and select memories but I don't think it would be the right thing to do - bringing him back here now. Perhaps in 5-10 years time it maybe okay but until then I think we should let the water flow underneath the bridge before advocating in bringing him back so early.

Its certainly interesting the situation Benitez finds himself in... I asked the same question Bigmick asked about 2months ago and got laughed at... Between Benitez and Hodgson, who gets the sack first ?
Inter have been terrible in the league ( won 2 in the last 8 and lost to their main rivals Roma and Milan) and if they dont win against Twente in the CL they might very well make an early exit from the competition..
The excuse of Benitez being in a no win situation is a laughable one imo.. He's manager of the best club in Europe and has some of the best players in the planet in his disposal... The only player who seems up for it however is Etoo.. He's managed to make the likes of Sneijder, Maicon, Millito..etc look like average players in record time..
Why anyone would want Benitez back is beyond me ...

Anyone who wants him back for me is off there heads.

We have a manager now who looks out of his depth and is taking us backwards.
But when we change him shouldnt we do it for someone better and who is not having the same problems at his own club that ours is having here  :;):
