Read the Johnson thread and then tell me I thought it was a good purchase.

if you can do a search for "a fukkin waste of money" it will find my posts faster?

Using statistics like yours I can say that in the last 2 years Manu haven't conceded a goal when Hargeaves has played (and if he made just one pass yesterday and it  was complete)I could say he has a 100% successful pass record.

You think acqua was a good buy?
You think Johnson was a good buy?

No hindsight here, I never wanted either.

Also, at the start of the world cup I said England were krap, spain, germany, argentina and Italy were the only contenders (ookay I messed up on Italy) but argentina lost to germany who lost to Spain who won it. A pretty fukkin good ratio on my part.

Why do I want to look in the Johnson thread? I already said I think he was a good buy. As for your Hargreaves analogy I don't think you can really compare assists to conceding goals, nice try though.  :D Especially as he is playing on a regular basis now it just further deflates your theory.

And wtf has the World cup got to do with it? Anyone can predict how that will go, even an octopus   :rasp

My point is that I am not using hindsight to say Johnson is krap. I said it was a terrible purchase and Rafa had wasted our budget. I think he just went mental, from the "FACT" speech on, his buys  were terrible, like when Houllier bought the two african boys who turned out to be clowns in 2002.

also the world cup was to point out that I am used to being the minority, being told I know nothing, but ultimately being proven  correct. Read that thread- I said England would go out against the first decent team and had no chance and I was called all types of names but my views were based on the krap players in the team who the media say are world class.

LFC makes managers go mental after 5 years.

but back to Inter - why are they worse than last year?

Their only big departure was Balotelli, they have had quite a few injuries this year too. Doesn't really make them worse so to speak but like I said their main rivals are stronger now. In the time since the relegation and points docking they have strengthened and they are pretty much back to where they were before now.

(1) are inter better or worse than last year?

(2) were their rivals weak the day Jose was there but then got strong the exact day benitez took the job? what a coincidence.

(3) Are you Rafa?

(4) Are you Goebells working for Rafa? (ignore if you answered yes to question 3)

so we agree that 4 seasons we did nothing, and we had 2 good league seasons and there was nothing to suggest last season that we were going in the right direction.

Do you admit that he blew his budget of 38m last year on rubbish?

He pass success rate was 97% yesterday (70/74) and since he has been staring Juve have been undefeated. 322 out of 353 passes.  In his last season for us he set up a goal every 136 minutes - the best assist rate in the top five leagues in Europe in 2009-10.

As for Johnson ok he is a bit suspect at defending but bombing forward he always helps to create chances. The thing is when he used to drift before Masch would cover him but we don't have anyone up to that level. Lucas is improving but isn't there yet and we practically threw money away on Poulsen, the slowest man ever. He makes the 6 million dollar man look like fecking Ussain Bolt. Also this season generally we haven't been pressing teams like we used to so naturally players that thrive on those sort of tactics are not able to influence the game in the same way.

Sorry Niall it's all too easy to look in hindsight and think you know better but in reality you don't.

agree with first paragraph only.   :D

I suppose it must be. :D

Well no wonder Rafa's Inter are struggling a little...one of their main rivals has strengthened beyond all recognition by bringing such a world class talent in on loan.  :D

how exactly is it possible for them to be better than last year? they won the treble ffs.

ok they're hardly setting the world on fire this season but in many regards, whoever took over from maureen was in a no win situation. if he wins the league it was with maureen's team and if he doesn't then he's destroyed all maureen's good work.

Very true mike. The best thing to do though is to win the league anyway, THEN argue about whose team it is.

I think the style of football has dramatically improved under Benitez and that is not just my personal opinion ,many Italian  football analysts and pundits  have highlighted  this improvement ,so like our very own Manager it will take time implementing his own systems and football philosophies ...but its really early days yet in Italy to suggest he is floundering ...some of Inters performances have been nothing short of majestic especially the first half against Spurs at the San Siro when the football was at its most fluid best (albeit from the show stopping performance from Bale who could win games on his own ) anyway I still fancy Inter to achieve the double ....but my money would be in Europe where Rafa Benitez will lay down the gauntlet .......

Just for the record - I still expect Inter to win the league this year. I do think they appear to be getting worse though.
