If it ensures that the players bought benefits the club in the long term and it's not the manager signing who he likes then that can only be a good thing imo.
I wonder if Insua and Aquilani situations will reassessed now?

Appointing Comolli is extremely smart, they've gone for a proven expert in his field with big club experience who'll provide them with a fully qualified analysis of the club current status and what needs to be done to get us back into the top four with a new team for a sustained run both doemstically and in europe.
The owners bring their own experience in sports ownership, management, assessment and statistical analysis. Who knows whether this will be relevant or bring success.
Rafa and Paco worked for owners who never tried to learn football. They thought appointing CP was the way forward, in that respect the new owners are far smarter.
We cant compare past methods and people with what we have today. Very soon we will have a completely different set up: new owners, director of football strategy, new manager and new players - and hopefully a new stadium.
The future is bright, very bright and we must support the new owners and not rush them. The decisions they make in the next 12, 24,36 months will affect the club for the next 20 years.
So far so good, I like it.

I know some are excited about this sixteen year old and I hope he makes it, but our return on investment even back through the Houllier days must surely be about the lowest in the league. Seemingly everyone apart from us produces the odd decent kid.

I'd like to see him feature on the bench and get a run if we're in a commanding position in games. As you say, the lad's pure quality and his build's no lesser than that of a young Fabregas or Jack Wilshire's current stature.
