Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Play some good attacking football, get a run going, get the players enjoying themselves, and he needs to work out his media savvy.

We're 5 points off 4th, but don't hold up much hope against cheatski... if we are top 8 by Xmas with 4th in close sight and doing well in Europe id be happier

What do YOU expect people to say Mick?

Come on, dont just criticise the responses, WIN, SHUT UP and SHOW MORE AFFINITY WITH THE CLUB AND SUPPORTERS are specific enough.  You want people to start saying what minute Torres should score???

If you wanted league position you should of stated as such

It's not just a number though is it Mick? Is a number going to make him handle his PR affairs better? If it was just a case of results on the pitch he would have people in his corner even now.

Fair enough mate. Get above Spurs, Man City and aston Villa in the league, AND  win our first trophy for five seasons :D.

Should be simple enough.

He needs to learn from his mistakes ,both in the PR dept and on the pitch . He needs to realise that we fans have expectations both on and off the pitch . We expect to compete for honours (that's why the last manager was sacked wasn't it ) we don't have low expectations like a good cup run and finishing 5th or below , not good enough . He needs to realise that he IS NOT managing a small sh!tty little outfit , he is the manager LFC and with that brings a unique set of demands . Respect the fans , respect the history of former players and managers . Fight our corner every step of the way and DO NOT let certain other managers roll you over and tickle your belly and then sh!t on you from a great height .
He needs to get us playing progressive flowing football  and to fight every step of the way for points . He needs to learn that 35years of manageing his way is the wrong way as is proven by his track record . He needs to know that he will be backed if he gets the fans on side RE-the last couple of managers . We will give him time if he proves he is worthy and anything less than 100% backing of all that is LFC is not good enough .

Sadly he can't and won't be able to live up to the job ,because he always was and he always will be a mediocre manager and at 64years of age he ain't going to change now . Best thing he can do is call it a day and leave with a bit of class and dignity atleast.

Comments like players should be betrayed to play for liverpool in the good and bad times is correct but I wouldn't blur it out to the press.

It sends a bad message to the squad. No body wants to be involved in a 4 year plan at the age of 27.

We've just been taken over by one of the most respected owners in MLB ....Time to be positive.

At the start of the season I'd have said top 4 had to be the realistic aim because the squad is good enough to challenge for that, despite what anyone else would have you believe. Ten games in and I've changed my position to say higher than last season's seventh is now more realistic. I just don't see any way we can get in the top four. Top six is still obtainable though, mainly because imo this league this season is as poor as it's ever been. there's six points between the relegation zone and fifth at the moment. Chelsea, Arsenal, United, City and Spurs will be the top 5 again because they have the best squads. After that it's a lottery for who finishes in the top half in positions 6-10.

A decent FA Cup run would also be nice because since we won it in 2006 our record in the competition has been poor to say the least.

Big Mick..

Man City are not the complete team yet though. With some good signing we could get fourth.
Spurs got lucky last year and Aston over achieved with MON.

4th spot is def not an outrageous call. But it shows how far our standards have dropped in 2 years.

So Bav, your answer is more media savvy and you'll warm to him

How do you work that one out? You finish where you deserve to finish. They beat Arsenal, Chelsea and City in the run in and deserved to finish there. I do agree that they may struggle a bit this season though as they don't have the experience of trying to juggle CL and Premiership commitments.

Did i say AND ?

You asked a question and i answered it - you know how people are going to answer and your obviously going to have a problem with it so why ask it in the first place .

And just to go that one step forward - do i think he will get us into top 4 or win a cup - answer is no - i dont think he will even get us into the top 8 .
