I still fail to see why Hodgsen was an option in the first place... go figure.

My first choice would be Pellegrini. Wouldn't mind Rijkaard but only if that Ten Cate guy came with him. Other options could be Deschamps or Laudrup.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Interview with Manuel Pellegrini. Bad translation job:

The coach Manuel Pellegrini assured today that Mark it Bielsa, current conductor of the selection of Chile "is not God neither invented the soccer", while faced the rumors that mention it as succeeding future of the rosarino. "Bielsa is not God neither invented the soccer.  Today the selection has a form to work, to think and to play, and we have progressed a lot, I expect that there be a parallel work to that, more extensive and integral", indicated.

In an interview to the newspaper The Third one of Chile added:  "Alive the present, I do not speculate, I would love to direct to Chile, to deliver all my experience, and though that desire does not have date, is not today". Upon being consulted about the action of the Chilean team in the World one from south Africa the coach indicated "I saw a good team that tried to play always, of equal to equal, but I saw better Chile in the qualifying rounds". "Without place to doubts the hand of the technician is noted, but that passes with all the technicians in the selection.  Does not mean that be better or worse.  He mark it Bielsa obtained the commitment of its players and thanks to that commitment has achieved that the team play how him likes", asserted.

Then Pellegrini declared that in Real Madrid found "a good group of players, but not a club willing to carry out a project where they could have improved many things" while indicated "there was an inexplicable campaign to discredit me".

On its future, the "Engineer" expressed that he has received several offerings, among them the possibility to direct to the selection of Japan and the poll of Liverpool, but he said that its final decision expects to take it in December. "It needed a moment of holidays as this.  It carried eleven years out of Chile.  I was in Equator, then in Argentina and later in Spain.  Suddenly is good to stop a little in this profession, that is so desgastante", culminated.

A different quote and translation from the Pellegrini interview yesterday:
Manual Pellegrini does not have any club to induce for the moment.  But the Chilean one does not count to remain unemployed too a long time.  "The offers did not lack and certain pleased me.  Ideal would be to find a club in December.  Liverpool contacted me.  It is a big club with a lot of Spanish players who I knew.  My intention was to discover the First (Premier?) League.  But they finally chose Hodgson ", explains the predecessor of Mourinho to the Real Madrid in the Newspaper The Tercera.

Hmmmm.  ???
