Dont think so mate Saviola was sent out on loan that summer to Monaco,we played them in the group stages and he cheated to score against us in the Principality where they won 1-0

mind you i'd take anybody right now.

I don't see why not. He hardly failed at Barcelona, he won the league twice and CL once. In fact his stint at Barcelona could fit our needs quite well.

In 2003/04 he finished runners up despite having been close to the relegation zone earlier in the season

:nod

As i said earlier - Barce hadnt won the title for 6 years and the CL for 16 years until Rijkaard arrived . If he did come to us he would need Ten Cate with him or a very good number 2 .

Rafa's success was courtesy of Paco Ayestaran, same difference.

Did we win anything after he went?

Rijkaard has won nothing without him. 2 league titles and a european cup  with Ten Cate along side him.

Ten Cate left, barca didnt win anything for 2 years, and he's been shi.te at Gala.

Rijkaard on his own is pants

If you look at Pellegrini's attempt at Real Madrid, you might see two points of view.

a) Some will say that he did achieve nothing, and it's true, he didn't win the league nor the Champions League.

b) But some people will argue that the Real Madrid of the previous season, was light years away from the strongest Barcelona in decades, and Pellegrini was able to challenge for the title until very late in the season.

Pellegrini was sacked because he didn't get along well with the chairman, the one that takes decissions, and MARCA, who attacked him systematically every day of the season. He was the Spanish Benitez for the Spanish press, if you see what I mean.

If the club wants a yes man, he won't have one in Pellegrini. Pellegrini won't be famous for attacking other managers in the press room neither, but he's a man of strong ideas, from my sofa.

I like Pellegrini, I respect his work at Villarreal, and I like his football.

Which means that many of you can be worried :D , because, in a way, he will be Rafa style, he'd use rotation (maybe less rotation but clearly rotation), and he'd bring some boring and latin continental concepts.

I think he's a good manager, and I think that with the proper funds and keeping the best of what we have he can bring Liverpool to fight for something. But how will he adapt to this league?

I'll follow this news... let's see what happens.

Sabre - I think at this stage we need Moses from the bible to part opposition teams, cos right now it looks like the only way we'll be able to get a clear run at their goal !!

His Chilean for that matter.

They recently celebrated 200 years of independence.

I don't know if that changes something, but still, I mention it.  :D
