Liverpool defender Djimi Traore is set to make his international debut for Mali after he was named in the squad for their World Cup qualifier against Togo next weekend. Mali have applied to FIFA to allow the Traore to switch his international allegiance under new rules which allow players who have represented one country at junior level to play for another providing they meet certain criteria.

The Mali squad:
Goalkeepers: Cheick Oumar Bathily (Djoliba), Fousseiny Tangara (FC Mantois, France)

Defenders: Moussa Coulibaly (AS Bamako), Drissa Diakité (Djoliba), Cedric Kanté (Racing Strasbourg, France), Boubacar Sidiki Koné (AS Bamako), Adama Tamboura (Djoliba), Djimy Traoré (Liverpool, England), Sammy Traoré (Nice, France)

Midfielders: Soumaila Coulibaly (SC Freiburg,), Seydou Keita, (RC Lens, France),Djibril Sidibé (Bastia, France), Mohamed Lamine Sissoko (Valencia, Spain)

Strikers: Janvier Abouta (Djoliba), Mamadou Bagayoko (Nantes, France), Dramane Coulibaly (FC Brussels, Belgium), Frederic Kanouté (Tottenham Hotspur, England), Teneman Ndiaye (Al Hilal, Arabia), Dramane Traoré (Club Africain,)

Is he any relative to Djimi Traore?
Hyypia must have one too namely Djimi Hyypia
