The season so far

very disapointing start to this campaign.as mick states we picked up the same points in the coresponding fixtures last season, true but my problem is they werent in succession.
our form has been non existent, yesterdays game was terrible even though we did play with some improvement on the brum match it wasnt near enough.not a feckin shot at van der sar in 90 mins is shocking.taggart was creaming himself in the post match interview at how comfortable they were all match and never once thought they would lose or draw it.
the next five games are gonna define our season in terms of a shot at 4th.
we should get 3 points from blackpool and we claimed the maximum 12 points from the remaining four if were going by last years comparisons.
saying that we are good enough to win the next five straight if we get the right tactics and team out on the day.
shearer on motd last night got it spot on showing the useless spells of possesion we had with no result,no width and terrible service and support we give to the front men.these are obvious problems that dogged us last year and im shocked to see us add to the squad and still continue to do the same things.
im not blaming the manager entirely as we know what he has inherited but so far he has been slow to show any real impact on our playing style.the players are the ones who need to step up here and be counted as they are the only ones that can lift us out of this bad start/slump or transition or what ever you want to call it, " :censored:" if were being honest.
things have to improve and quick!!

I made a £20 bet with my mate last week that we would finish above Arsenal this season. It looks unlikely I will win that bet even at this early stage.

Maybe it's time to play a few of the younger players and axe 2 or 3 of the big names. They shouldn't be keeping their places just because of past reputations. Atleast we would get more passion and commitment from the younger ones.

I have stopped reading 'pundits' comments. They have nothing good to say about us anyway.

After accepting we will only get 4th place at best, I just take each game as it come (cliche police). With Roy just imprinting his style of play, the best I could hope for is just a good performance from the lads. For me, points is not the issue here. Playing well and building up confidence is. Loosing is difficult but its just part of the game.

The season so far, we're just 'finding our feet' with new approach to the game plus some really difficult early fixtures (plus new teammates, nevermind the boardroom politics), it may take until after the new year for us to turn the corner and I reckon will finish the season strongly as we have done 2 season ago.

taff wrote:I havent been impressed with Roy in the press so far.  Ok no title challenge and that I can accept in the current climate but with this squad we should definitely be challenging for top four.  This is why he was brought in and it is what we all demand.  So patience and time for rebuilding, no problem from me.  But we should demand a top four as that is the reason for getting rid of Rafa and getting Roy.  If you cant stand the heat etc.

Even the guardian today said that Roy looked shocked at Fergies comments after the game,  so I hope its a lesson to be learnt.  At LFC you dont make friends you get results end of, and that should be basic and unarguable.  But its early and I still have faith and hope he will get us into the top four.  If he doesnt then his second season might be under threat.

I think that we havent sussed him out yet and he hasnt sussed us out yet.  Rafa seemed to get it immediately but is no longer here and  while I will never ever forget the guy it is far more important to support and have faith in the team as it is now.

I agree, Roy seems a little soft to be honest. But its early so i won't elaborate on that point. I'll give him time. I just hope he realises this isn't Fulham your coaching anymore, this is Liverpool FC.

The way we are playing at the moment is absolutely shocking, we are unbelievably slow and ponderous in our build up, the movement is close to standing and in the final third of the pitch we carry ABSOLUTELY NO THREAT. Everyone knows about the troubles of Torres, but he really needs to pick himself up and start showing some passion and appetite for us. With that said the support offered is woeful.

Something during the game that summed everything up for me was when we were at 2-2, we had our tails up, Johnson gets on the ball runs down the right and slows to a walking pace until he's practically standing still with two United players around him, no one helping him out or wanting the ball, Johnson is :censored: clueless by the way and we end up losing the ball.

So the start to the season has been bad. I'm growing in confidence that we can beat Sunderland however. After that i'm not sure, there are no easy games in this league.

P.S. Meireles to be a star  :buttrock

I posted after the united game things would start getting better for us but in actual fact things are getting worse. A draw at home agaianst sunderland and  A LOSS to BLACKPOOL at ANFIELD. This club  is becoming a joke as we sit in the bottom 3. We have everton next and to be honest im pretty worried whats going to happen.

People may say its to early to sack the manager but when do we do it when we are bottom because by the look of things we could be very soon.

Roy needs to grow some balls and start dropping players.

The young lads coming through martin kelly pacheco i would start against everton because they will give there all and so would daniel agger.

I think changes need to happen in the team or in the management

Season so far ? !

Only October and already I can't wait for it to be f'ucking finished. 50 plus years behind the team through all the high's and lows, I can't ever remember a time even after the most disappointing run of results when my faith in the ability of the team to recover ever wavered, until now.  :(
