Who needs to go?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Stewart Downing would be a good signing, not as a starter but at least he could be a good player on the bench that could come in handy. He is young and talented, playing well at Boro.

A.B with all due respect the time is over for talking about Liverpool signing prospects. I have had a lifetime now of Liverpool signing so called good young players. We need to start looking at world class players now who are established and can come in and do the job right away. Time will tell if we still have either the money or the pulling power .

1. Harry Kewell-this lad no longer plays because he loves the club or the game, he plays for money in order to be the richest Australian.
2. Traore-why is he even here? He doesn't even deserve to play in a club like Norwich yet he gets a start?
3. Diao-I rather have Biscan in midfield than this fool.
4. Finnan-what can I say? Just not good enough

Playing such poor players in big games concerns me.

Our team should had been:
Kirkland,Josemi,Hyypia,Riise,Alonso,Garcia,Hamman,Warnock,Cisse and Baros.

What Rafa was thinking only he and the birds on the tree's know.

My concern has grown. If this wasn't a wake up call for our players and our manager then I don't know what will wake us up.

your suggested team only has 10 players  :D

John Barnes' Granny

Hate to do this to you as it will bring yer rantings down but I agree with who should go except for Dudek, still remain open minded about Kirkland. ???

Nothing will happen till Jan

You just cant help replying even though its a disgrace to get worked up this early with a new manager and a few new players esdpecially inheriting a team at rock bottom morale ways after last season

Gone are the most knowledgeable supporter days
Where is the money
We have the players we have for all of you having a go at Traore who bloody else then
Welsh etc rather than Diao in a fairytale maybe where everything comes right bad buy but ahead of any youth player

Blah blah SG isnt here. Alonso is younger but parts of his game look better than SG.
Garcia and Cisse cant find the rhythm but things are getting better on that front

Its a hell of a welcome to the premiership for Rafa but if we judge this early we maybe deserve to turn into Villa or Spurs

The question I would have to ask is did these players need to be sold following the Man City game, did you want rid of them following the Norwich game, was your verdict that they MUST be shipped out following the Monaco game and where you advocating their sale following the win over the Baggies.

I bet you answer NO to at least one of those questions.

Its typical of some people on here to over react and predict Champions League success when we win a game, and then the following week demand the sale of half the squad (and predict the demise of the club and a struggle to finish in the top six) following a bad result.

Now dont get me wrong, I hurt every time we are beaten, (as does the cat) and it really makes me feel sick to lose at the theatre of penalties, but look at things in a bigger picture....

At Old Trafford, we lost out in the Rio Ferdinand Show to two sloppy goals from set peices, and only because the lads are trying tirelessly to adapt to a change in the system. We where certainly not pummeled, and lost by the odd goal in three, not exactly a drubbing??

At Olympiakos, we lost 1-0, to a team high on confidence (see Euro 2004) once again to a header from a set peice, and the reason, a deflection took it away from the balls original trajectory, thus causing problems for our boys who are adapting to a new zonal marking set up. Not exactly a humiliating defeat now was it ??

At Stamford Bridge, we lost out to a team with limitless amounts of money to spend on players, and only to a clever free kick that basically caught our boys out. Not exactley a 5-0 gubbing now is it ??

Now if we where being beaten by two and three clear goals on a weekly basis, then I could see where you are coming from, but losing out by one goal must tell you that we are going about it the right way, and we are close to what we want.

Also, the supporter is supposed to back the lads both when winning and things are going well, at also, and in my opinion more importantly when the situation is less than rosey. Maybe some people on this forum should think about that next time they start posting the usual drivel following a bad result.

As I said Leon, the players I advocate to go are the same guys I advocated to be jettisoned in the Houllier days, with the addition of Kewell, who has had a chance to shine but has blown it IMO.

Almost all the guys I mentioned are squad players and their departure wouldn't make a massive difference if we had a full first 11 out.

I stated last year that Finnan deserved one last season given his injuries last year, and while he has improved a small bit, he's a guy I simply never have fancied as a player, either for Liverpool or Fulham.

Yeah like leon says, losing a game 1-0 is better than losing a game 5-0. Do we get more points for losing 1-0 than we would if we lost 5-0??  errrrrrr, NO! so that statement is trash... [opens the bin and disposes of leons comments].

Fact is WE LOST. 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, or 729-0 WE LOST! NIL POINTS! NO POINTS ON THE BOARD! ZILCH! RASP!

Aarrghhhhh Im so frustrated, but all will come good soon I predict. I bet it's not long before we stuff someone, double figures! Mind you, I'd take a season of 1-0 scrapes at the moment.
