LIVERPOOL VS NORTHAMPTON - Carling Cup 3rd round 22/9/10 8pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Kopite-Jud » Wed Sep 22, 2010 11:21 pm

our problem is Roy is playing the same system as Rafa, nothing is different in the formation, (correct me if im wrong) two defensive midfielders at home to Northampton town? you got to be joking! im not a master tactician but i could have told you thats a disaster waiting to happen! why not put a few big names on the bench? that would scare the opposition! Im not being funny but this was easily avoidable, i feel for the travelling fans that paid their hard earned wages to watch that! The future does'nt look good atall.

Roy said that this year our priority is the Premier league, he said he would give other squad members a chance to play by playing them in the cup competitions.

Its not really his fault that at least 4 players tonight couldn't be assed!

He has done what he said, give the guy a break YNWA
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Highlights on BBC 1 now.

Im not too bothered about this game to be honest and if anything im more worried about the pressure our top players will be under following the result rather than the fact that we're out of the carling cup early on..

I'm of the same thoughts mate. Disappointing to go out at home and in the 1st round (for us) but we've been here before under Rafa (eg. out early in this comp) and I never gave him much of a hard time for it so the same applies to Hodgson.

Of course, I'm elated for their players. I'm really hoping that the corner is gonna soon. We've definitely got the players there (not by tonights showing of course). I dont know, maybe you just hold onto the 15 mins we were on top at OT and think that may be the sign of things to come. Maybe, back to the days when we used to frighten the hell out of everyone. "Who've we got this week...........Liverpool...........sh*t"

Isn't it funny how, when Liverpool lose to a lower league team BANG we are on first ?

IM DISGUSTED . TOTALY DISGUSTED

totally agree nan, however you might not agree with me on this - the players out their tonight had the biggest chance of their lives to impress, make a stake for a place in the side, make roy sit up & think about selection headaches etc... fecking hell he needn't have worried from the word go! the players out their tonight wre so fecking poor in attitude, commitment, belief etc that it was pitifull to watch. especially PACHEO, he was fecking awfull! (this is where my opinion, may differ from others on here) so be it, i have to say from the heart, i had high hopes for him.

tonight he showed me he is vastly over-rated,i have watched him for a long time now & he showed great potential in the reserves... please give me the chance for an opinion here- their is a masive, masive difference between a great run of form in the reserves to getting a chance on the big stage of playing in the first team, an proving you have what it takes to suceed in the first team on a regular basis. sadly he has failed on more than one occasion for me. it comes to somthing when a player like him with so much promise fails to deliver.

after being given a golden opportunity tonight, he gets subed for his awfull perforfance, an quite rightly so imho. he is the shadow of babel, i really mean that & he was subbed aswell for the same reason.

ffs i was so dis-appionted tonight in all the ressie, fringe players tonight words fail me in their lack of attitude, fight, determination that i will not blame roy for that, i blame the players, the whole team, perforfance & lack of leadership from senior players was totally un-acceptable, no-one in a red shirt tonight took responsibility for creating chances or having a go for goal themselves & players who think they are capable for playing in the red shirt seriously need to think again after tonight.

some on here think roy is out of his depth, well all i say is that their are alot of players out of their depth at LFC. tonight proved that & before anyone says it's only one game or they haven't played together before. so fecking what- the reality is we played a fecking old school 4th division team tonight, an the likes of pacheo etc should have ripped them apart, showed them hunger, speed, skill, everything you assoiciate with so called brilliant, raw, natural talent. what i saw,was payers, like a rabbit caught in cars headlights.

our so called strength in depth was tested tonight & sadly we are lacking so bad it's frightening.
