Jan Molby: "This was Northampton's night, it was in the stars for this to happen. But for Liverpool to lose, it was absolutely unthinkable before. They were surely always going to make sure they would win this game, weren't they? I think we are seeing the legacy of the Rafael Benitez reign right here, and it's going to take Liverpool a long time to challenge for the top four again."

Well, what can you say about that? I aint gonna write Roy off yet but, c'mon, did we ever get this low under Rafa? I'm still gonna give the guy a chance though. He has a lot to learn about our expectations

I dont care about the Mickey Mouse carling cup however for me the worry is the level of performance again.  I dont see what Hodgson is trying to achieve with this side?  Is he trying to make us play a different way as I cant see it?

So where are those who said our starters should be rested?? so are we better off now with this disgraceful result?? If Roy came just to replicate Rafa's tactics then WTF are we paying him for? and those players should really go home and think about their behaviour and approach to games and to Liverpool Fans. Yes Fck Gillete and Fck Hicks ,but this is totally unexcuseble.

Hes right but seriously thats no excuse for Liverpool players to lose at home to a bunch of semi-pros. What the fu'ck is going on in their heads?
How can these players look at themselves in the mirror knowing what a disgraceful display they have just given?

To be honest I don't care for all that nonsense. We've made excuses for years to try and justify our stance on managers and players and at some point it has to stop. The manager is culpable 100%, the players are culpable 100%. None of this "it's the players innit", none of this "it's the owners" because it's all b0ll0cks.

If young Danny Wilson played for them, he'd be their best player. If Lucas played for them, they'd build a statue of him outside the ground. It's an absolutely disgraceful result, and we must do much better.

Doesn't matter it's just the league cup. Those players have failed to beat a team in the bottom division - they're clearly not good enough to play for Liverpool.

Thankfully I didnt see the match but there seems to be a lack of motivation with our players this season and the last. They are much better than this.
