WE should dictate pace of game, Gerrard HAS to play in midfield, I thought when Lucas went off we did look more like scoring.

Big Issue, Maxi should be selling the Big Issue, along with Lucas. That was the biggest pile of dross i've seen in a long time. :veryangry
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

We'll we will have Cole for the other games. Poulsen and Meireles in midfield Gerrard behind Torres and Cole on the right and we should be fine.

A draw is an alright result.

Since Lucas went off we bossed the game.

Did we f*ck. It was more as you were.

We probably had about 5 shots on goal since Lucas went off! The midfield was moving around, being ambitious and creative.

Lucas is an absolute thorn in our side and he has been one of the many reasons why the team has been underachieving.

He is a scapegoat for a reason. You dont just suddenly gain that status, you have to be awful to get it.

They talk about how birmingham deserved it more, but we could have had 2 pens in 5 mins.  The first would have been very harsh, though it was the same thing that happened to fulham the other day when duff handled against united, of course that was called.

THe one on Torres was a clear cut pen though. No doubt, but of course it's not called.

Reina obvious man of the match.  Very dissapointing in my opinion.

I dozed off during the first half but had hope we would give it a go second half but nothing transpired. The most dissapointing thing is we seem to be in the same old routine that let us down last year when we opted to change but Hodgson appears to be slow picking that up. I just pray he sticks Gerrad back in the centre when Cole returns and allows Meireles to start a match. Out of the whole miserable spectacle he did offer a crumb of comfort and looked lively for the ten minutes he was on the park. Lucas gets some pelters but honest to god he really is poor, and I cant find the words for Maxi who may as well have gone round to his mums for Sunday tea for what he offered this afty.

My biggest disappointment were Gerrard and Johnson ,2 England International ,2 "Stars" ,you look at them to pull all the players after them and they were total shiite. Roy was terrible his starting lineup was a farce and his subs were so late yes the sun was in his eyes but come on wake up you can't be that blind??? Our current form has to be one of worst in the league ,it saddnes me to say so but we look just plain horrible.

Well, it's been quite a while since I experienced such a lack-lustre performance from an inept Liverpool team. Agreed that it wasn't such a bad result against a half decent side but when you find yourself getting excited coz we've crossed the half way line or managed to hoof the ball clear, then somethings up. I have always been a bit of a fan of Lucas but he just looked out of his depth. Meireles to control that midfield from now on and Babel or Pacheco in for Maxi  :(

pretty godawful.

BUT the few positives i took were
- jovanovic's performance..thought he did well....
- meireles looks promising. but at that stage of the game he was pretty much free to do whatever he wanted so we'll see with that one.
- Pepe is god
- Konchesky looked pretty solid for the most part.
- At least we didnt lose....not sayin much...but right now...it will do.

thats it. yank$ out.

I thought we played much better second half. For a while there I thought we were going to get our first win over Birmingham in our last twelve league games or whatever the feck the stat is, but in the end it's not a bad point.

As far as the game was concerned Lucas was absolutely terrible, even by his own standards. As soon as he went off we looked a far better team, and it once again confirmed the fact that he is a passenger who is too heavy for us to carry. Poulsen did well (once again particularly once Lucas had gone off so he could just get on with doing what he does). Maxi Rodriguez was once again absolutely anonymous, and surely even babel must be a better bet. Shining light of the display though (obviously as well as the unbelieveable Pepe Reina and Carra who had a blinder too) was Paul Konchesky. The arguments been done to death about him so there's no need to go over it again here, but hopefully even his biggest critic could see what he offered in this match.

For them I like Roger Johnson more each time I see him. There aren't many better centre halves in the division, and if we do get a few quid then a bid for him of mid teens would be money well spent IMHO. He was absolutely excellent again today.

We were a different team when Lucas was subbed and Gerrard moved back into midfield.

The change should have been made a lot earlier though, it was obvious at half time that we needed to take Lucas off.

Maxi played like a free transfer.  We missed Kuyt on the right, much better than Maxi.

Hodgson aint done nothing to suggest we will be any more positive than were last season.  A v negative side he picked today.

Oh well Wigan v Leeds Rhino's on soon.  That will be much better than the drivel I just watched.
