How's it Evolving? .... With the sign of Raul Meireles, i would said "Royevolution" .... but with the failure of signing no backup striker ... it might become "Failurevolution" ..

Sorry, you tried, but that just sounds retarded :p

But you are somewhat right.  Unfortunately, even though people were happy with him up until the end of dead line day, that final day somewhat ruined his decent summer.

I have never seen us be dominated by opposition as much as i have done during the last two weeks since the Arsenal game . We are poor at the moment .

I am interested to see when the free flowing attacking football is going to start - the sort of football that people said would be played by us with new manager - despite heavy evidence of his previous job suggesting otherwise .

Your memory of what people said is somewhat blurred I think. the general consensus was that Hodgson's teams traditionally play a short passing game that is pleasing on the eye, they have always got it down and played it with a decent balance between attack and defense. I don't recall a mass of people claiming we would suddenly turn into this gungho cavalier attacking unit.

Dont forget that Jovanovic sees himself more as a striker/forward player, so I wouldnt be surprised if Roy plays him up with Torres as a second striker, maybe using J Cole/Aurelio/Babel on the left side of attack.

Also for Torres's goal against WBA, Kuyt assisted Torres from the Left-centre side of the pitch (Basically a Second Striker) for the goal, so I could see Kuyt forming a good partnership with Torres if given a decent run together.

I think Roy has done well in his attemp to balance the squad to his liking. Off course, results will prove it right or wrong. So lets just wait and see, till Xmas at the very least.

When we go to Old Trafford in a few weeks time and let them have all the possession we will be killed, and it could end up being an embarressment lets hope for our sake and Roys its not !!!

Well next time we play there will be two major differences. Firstly, we'll have a new left back and I think he is better than Agger in there (although fair play to the Dane he has done OK) and is a mile better than Insua. Secondly, we'll have the Moriales fella in midfield. I've never noticed the fella playing (I've probably watched a game he was involved in at some point) but from what people are saying about him, I think he will improve us as a team as well.

I think Lucas is right to be concerned that he will be playing as much as he did last season, and I think the fact that he won't will improe us as well. Things are looking up. If we get a result against Birmingham people will begin to feel much better about themselves.

So are we stronger or weaker than at the end of last season? I think we did very well to get Joe Cole and the other signing of outstanding potential is Meireles (like any new signing we need to see if he settles in England, but I'm hopeful). I was very disappointed not to get to get another stiker in though, my preference was for Carlton Cole; I don't think Babel is going to 'make it' here and Lucas is patently not good enough. Overall I think we're weaker, but only marginally; that's not to say we won't improve on last season in which we vastly underperformed but we're far behind  Chelsea, City and United. We'll probably not compete with Arsenal which leaves us fighting for fifth with Spus and Villa. Unless Roy performs miracles or we get really lucky - if Torres gets fit, Gerrard regains his form, Meireles and Poulsen bed in straight away who knows? It's why we all watch sport.

Summer transfers
Fábio Aurélio           Fabio Aurelio
David Martin
Yossi Benayoun       Joe Cole
Albert Riera             Milan Jovanovic
Diego Cavalieri         Brad Jones
Krisztian Nemeth
Javier Mascherano    Christian Poulsen
Alex Kacanicklic        Danny Wilson
Lauri Dalla Valle
Damien Plessis
Also Aquilani on loan      Raul Meireles
Insua on loan               Paul Konchesky

I think we are stronger, but thats not all now to the players we have, from what i hear the players feel more happy going to work due to Roy being there,he takes time to talk to them and ask about how there kids are, one players kid had been ill and the player had to leave for home, roy called the player later that night to see how his child was, they say this is something that Rafa would not have done and would have left someone at the club to do. Roy seems more hands on with the players lives andf i think thats a good thing, if you understand the player then you can find what makes them tick and to get the best out of him, bit likethe bable thig he did with twitter.

We would have seen better distribution if Aurelio started instead of Agger though wouldnt we?

Squad wise I think it's pretty close but maybe just a little but weaker due to masher going and his replacement not being anywhere near his standard . We are still going to have to hope we have Torres fit through out the season - if not we will be in the exact same boat as last season - not enough goals . If cole is to play behind Torres then we need the same amount of goals as gerrard got from that position . I still think top 4 is out of our reach and we will be lookin at places between 5th and 7th again .

  Yes ok, what a steaming pile of bullshit dear oh dear.

You couldnt be further than the truth, my auntie lives facing the Lilly Centre guess who was there every week Rafa, guess who was there nearly every day? His wife Montse.

This topics about Roys tactics not to have cheap shots at our ex manager, its pathetic but not suprising, and people wonder why people get a cob on?

I think that's the biggest difference. To counter that though, all suggestions are Meireles will be a big improvement on Aquilani. I suppose we need  to see how Poulsen and Meireles work out.
