I will post positive views when I see them but until then I'm not going to bury my head in the sand and become a sheep and think that just because we got Cole and we have a new manager we are suddenly going to become a force in the prem . I see us not being good enough and the evidence I have seen so far is backing that up - am I happy with that NO , not in a million years - this is he first time I have felt like this in the last 30 odd years and I'm gutted at the moment . I'm sick and tired of having to to justify myself to people like you - I give my opinion - if you don't like it then debate in a mature football manner - if your incapable of doing that then just walk on by - it won't bother me one single bit - certainly better than having to read he numerous cheap digs you post

come on Benjamin admit it you area total mong.

your posts are about as enthusiastic as a prisoner on death row.

we all know we are in deep :censored: mate just some of us would prefer to try and look to the few positives.

life is difficult enough without some of the doom and gloom brigade constantly slating Roy at every opportunity.

Pacheco was steam-rollered by the City defense yesterday which was a bit hard to watch.

You surely cannot be serious? ???

The kid came on with five min's to go and had possession of the ball about five or six times, manifesting in two separate moves. In the first, he successfully linked a passage of play involving Gerrard, Babel and Agger, from one end to the other that advancde us up the pitch, resulting in a cross and (p!sspoor) header from Kuyt. His touch, passing and awareness were spot on in that move, it was very encouraging in fact. The other move as it were came with about 30 secs left on the clock when he received the ball near the edge of the box and tried to weave his way in between Richards and Zabaleta but couldn't quite hold off Zabaleta. But even then he worked hard to close Zabaleta and managed force the ball out for a throw. That was not being steamrollered, that was trying to impress with a bit of skill in a game long since over.

From what I can see most on here are reasonable and accept our situation. They understand we have serious limitations this season in terms of transfer budgets, players wanting to leave and a general instability to the club. Combined with a new manager trying to stabilise the team and performances.

The last thing you want to be reading is scaremongering, unfair assumptions and downright dodgy conclusions. I accept that these opinions may be prevalent in some, but it seems to be unfortunately prevalent in those who post a lot. Essentially spamming the board with negativity and drowning out any positivism that is being posted.  :(

i totally agree lets be more positive from now on. Were fourth from bottom least were not in the bottom three :D

I was impressed with what I saw in his 5 min spell, too. 5 minutes doesn't prove anything, but I sure didn't see him getting steam rollered

i think people need to get over the perception that man city is still a div 1 club brought back up by Kevin Keegan.
Mancity even outspend Real Scums, and now is a force to be reckon with, they have even more depth than chelsh1t or the mancs. is not like we lose to barnsley or crystal palace.

if we can still kill off lesser teams, we will be ok. starting this sunday.

Agreed. At the same time, it was worrying how poorly the team played. It exposed all the problems that the team has and it was beyond eyeopening. The difference in level of play was huge. Possession alone was embarrassing. At one point ESPN put up a stat that had Man City possession at 74 and Liverpool at 26. That is what worries me the most, not that they are a quality side who played well, but that they shellacked us for 90 minutes.

I think a lot of people on here could learn from that, except the ones that need to never do :no

Exactly. In the day and age of squads costing £100m+ the kids have to be special, our's simply aren't special enough. They're also somewhat of a gamble, you never know just how good they are going to be and prodigies so good even a blind man can spot them are few and far between.

Which is one reason why I don't go a bundle on buying youth.

As for the next couple of games, well we have a 100% record against WBA in the Premiership they are that poor. That's not to say the 100% record won't end at some point, but I think we should be ok at home. Birmingham away will be a psychological barrier for a number of players yet to be on the winning side against them in the league/at all. Not sure the squad has the ability to break down stubborn and/or well organised defences, not convinced Woy is a tactical genius or has something special to mastermind a win there. Rafa was often touted as a "great tactician", some of the time he was so wrapped up in his "tactics" that he overcomplicated it and didn't just go out and beat sides we should have beaten.

As for what Citeh spent, so what? We lost badly because we played poorly, the manager didn't adapt and the team went down lamely. The only real additions were Milner and Yo Yo, the Citeh team wasn't that much different or stronger than last year, we just played a lot worse. It's not just the players that need to "up their game", it is the manager too. He'll lose the fans very quickly if he lets games drift without doing something, especially if he can't get the same set of players Rafa had (give or take one or two) and gets the same or worse results.

I think if we don't get a good result at Old Trafford we might struggle.. we'll have a full squad at that point with Cole and Torres should be fit so I am confident about the match, but if for some reason we struggle again I'll start to really worry. :(
