Maybe people will realise their expectations are a little high and lower them to more realistic standards that fit our situation .

Not many on here said we would win the league! many said that we will be a steady ship and try to get into the top 4 and I think we can still do that.

People really are forgetting the fact is that Man City spent more than 100m quid this summer.. and that is a FACT!

They have more money than us --- FACT

They have better players ---- FACT

Man Utd have spent more and have more money than us this season. They have better players: FACT.

Chelsea have spent more, have more and have better players than us: FACT.

MAn City, blah, blah, blah: FACT.

Tottenham, blah, blah, blah: FACT.

Arsenal, blah, blah, blah: FACT.

Guess where we're going to finish?

Why wait for a result like this to come on and stoke the fires Lando?

So sick of the petty arguments, holier than nough attitudes and I told you so egos in this place.

That's not just aimed at you but ALL the usual suspects who continually drag this place to the gutter.

This place becomes too tedious at times.  Throughout this thread there are digs at each other. We are all miffed about the result but we all know the position this club is in with regards to the owners. Petty arguments need to be put aside and we should all just wallow in self pity together !

Tell ya what then instead of talking a good fight go and wave your flags outside the ground and see if the owners take notice.

Nothing in the world along with all the rose tinted glasses will convince me and others that Rafa is not to blame for the drivel on the bench and absolute shyt that we watched from some of his players week in week out.

I thought it was brave to come out and try and play with 2 upfront but ultimately it was folly because the lads playing in midfield weren't good enough on the ball to boss it against City's midfield 5. Was surprised Hodgson didn't change it at half-time, am guessing he was buoyed by the 5 mins leading up to the break. Whilst City always looked comfortable from the moment they scored I don't think the 3-0 scoreline reflected the game. I know we were poor but don't forget they had 3 shots on target and scored 3 goals. Their superior quality in the wide areas was the real difference, Milner and especially Johnson were outstanding. Where as Kuyt and especially Jovanovic had very poor games. I wouold have liked to have seen Babel on for Jovanovich as early as the 50th minute because the lad had a Biscanesque sort of game. I also would have been tempted to take off Ngog and replace him with another midfielder at half-time.

Only positive I could take form the game was seeing Torres get the best part of 80 minutes + showing a few little bursts to suggest he isn't a million miles away from some decent form. He looks depressed as hell though.

Other thoughts:

- I'd like to see Poulsen in the team ahead of Lucas in the coming weeks. Lucas was invisible tonight.

- 4-4-2 away to big guns like City is not the way forward, or at least not with the personnel out there tonight.

-  As solid a player as Danny Agger is we need a left back ASAP, you can't expect him to deal with the likes of Adam Johnson, particularly with zero support from Jovanovich ahead of him.

- Get young Pachecho into the mix in the coming weeks. Can't hurt to see what this kid can do.

- Man to man marking. Notice it didn't even get a mention from the commentary team when they scored from the corner!?

:censored: off you tedious tw@t.  Call yourself a fan?  How many fans ENJOY watching their team lose, just so they can have cheap digs at the new manager. eh?

You're having a laugh, surely?

There are those of us who know, lad, and you're not one of them.

really...according to you Torres and Gerrard were leaving. Roy is a YES man and would sell everyone too.

someone remind he where we finished in the league in Rafa's first season.

Ahhh, but you're forgetting: Roy has loads of Premiership experience and knows what it means to the fans.

Rafa didn't, apparently...  :oh:

i'm confused. You are in the KNOW....you SAID Torres and Gerrard were leaving. Why are they still here?

Dick - may I call you Dick? When, oh knowing one, did I ever say that they were leaving? When did I say "Torres and Gerrard are goners - take it from me"?

You stupid little girl.

We got swamped in midfield because Lucas - Gerrard doesn't work and with Kuyt it really doesn't help! Surprised? do you think we have another fit midfielder at our disposal when we had the :censored: :censored: of a player called mascherano to refuse to play today?! don't you think it affected Roy's game plan? Poulsen isn't fit, Aquilani is off to Juventus.

Mascher wanted to leave last Summer, though.

I wonder who persuaded him to stay?

and I wondered who persuaded Torres and Gerrard to stay

Why, did they want to leave under Rafa?

agree with most of what you said, changes should have been made at half time, the formation was all wrong for the players in the team. Lucas was invisible as usual, Kuyt was hopeless and out of position and Jokanovic huffed and puffed but constantly lost the ball and didnt help out much against Adam Johnson. The game was lost in midfield and to be honest there team just looked a lot more talented than ours. Man City didnt do much as a team but there individual talent, particuarly on the wings was far superior tonight.

I also loved the fact didnt even mention man marking when we conceded from a corner!  :D

Well it's tough sh!t for those who chose to NOT support the previous manger over the owners , because now it's coming back to bite the snidey feckers on the @rse , because the manager we have now the one they deem deserves there support is suffering the same problems and more .
