He`s hardly our most creative player and the only discrace is the way he "floats" through games, letting most of it pass him by. The lad has talent but I dont think he`s the type we need.
If its a loan with a veiw to a permanent move then its a good deal, and for all we know frees up wages for a player who will make the first team.
Also how do you know he hasnt asked for a move?

was he fully fit last season did he get enough games under rafa to get fully matchfit. he should of been given at least till jan window to proof himself. is joe cole better than aqua is he feck.

If it is indeed true, it's quite a shame I liked aquilani. Had high hopes for him. His trough balls are class and the likes of which you rarely see in the premier league.

Loosing a creativity player and replacing him with a dm doesnt point to a expansive game . With Aquilani going it looks like Hodgson is going to rely on Torres,Gerrard and Cole to provide to attacking creativity which is not enough imo - loose one of them and we are short .

If its true that we arent going to bring in anyone else then is a disappointing transfer window for us and the squad will not look any stronger than last season .

Couple of people bemoaning the loss of Aqualani "our most creative player". Will someone tell me what he's actually created during his time with us ?. Yeah , "he didn't get enough playing time" blah blah blah, but again there's a question attatched to that, i.e. Why ?.

He may have looked a bit "tricky" but imo the tag "creative" is a bit of a stretch.

lets see how long u muppets start moaning that we aernt creativity in the side. So now we got joe cole and stevie. The rest are either sh!ite or defense minded happy days not.

I think Roy needs to put HIS stamp on the Lpool squad, and not just play a continuation of Rafa's team & Style.

It would be good to see Dirk Kuyt perform as a striker or forward position from now on, and we neeed to mobilize either Maxi or Glen Johnson to the Right Midfield in his place. Young Martin Kelly seems adept at performing in the RB position, so its a way to blood him into the first team.

It seems Inter could be prizing Kuyt away from Lpool though, if the online rumours are to be confounded...

i think when people comment on the need for creative players, they refer to players who can make an impact on the game in terms of coming up with a goal or making a good pass to open up defenses such as Luis Garcia, Fowler, etc. Aquilani has not made any impact of such.

is it even confirmed he is going on loan (i dont see any club linked to him) or is it just an expressed intention which might not come about?

Interestingly to see Hodgson making clear objective decisions about the squad. We all doubted the value of Aquilani for £20m, Roy clearly agrees. Besides it's only a loan deal.

More interesting is the possible move of Kuyt tointer, possible player swap and money.
