An away goal in Turkey should not be the hardest thing in the world to aquire. As long as we dont concede too many.

Hopefully if we get good chances on Monday night, we wont squander them the way we did tonight.....

ye playing away in turkey with a slender lead is gona be dead easy. What planet are u from remind me?

Against Galatasaray or Fenerbache it would be very tough indeed, but Trabzonspor should be a level down from those 2.
The narrow 1-0 tonight means Roy is going to have to treat the 2nd leg with a full compliment of 1st team players.

Oh yeah, and i'm from planet GoAndHaveAWankNowThattheMatchIsOverYouTwat!!!!

With our first team we should have no probs but would be worried if we played the same sort of team .

stop kidding yourselves even with gerrard and nando starting its still gona be helluva tough game and joe cole could of cost us dear wth that sh!ite attempt of a pass back oh sorry i mean penalty.

Whoa calm down there - anyone can miss a penalty - the best in the world have done . Cole is just trying too hard to impress at the moment and needs to relax and just play his natural game . With Torres , Gerrard , Kuyt , Agger , Johnson and Masher playing we will be a totally different team and will outclass them away quite comfortably IMO .

What positives are you talking about ? How about - we STILL can't finish a team off; we STILL rely too much on Torres; Lucas can STILL not take the ball away fairly; Aurelio is STILL not the answer in that position; we are STILL dodgy at defending from set pieces....

Dunno which game you were watching but it must've been a different one to the one I saw...

Read back mate and you will say I thought it was poor - was just trying to get some positives out of a poor performance and the main one is torres

Are you actually reading what people are posting - no one is making excuses for tonight - it was a poor performance overall with some good signs of seeing Torres back BUT surely even you must realise it was a second string team out there and we got a win and it's going to be totally different with the first teamers back playing and the qualities they bring - it will be a totally different game and if you can't see that then I'm afraid there is little hope for you .

Liverpool didnt play as well because Trabzonspor worked there socks off. However roy did still go for it and showed a positive move by putting on Torres. Look at the chances we had:

Lucas should have scored, it was a horrible miss but that could have been 2.

The penalty that was but wasnt given.

Then the one that was given but missed.

And of course the disallowed goal. If that is classed as a poor performance, creating the chances we did, with lets be honest here, not our strongest line up then your just simply nit picking for the sake of it. They were a tough team but on another night we could easily have walked away with a 4-0 win.

I think you might need to review that last post.
What's second string about Jovanovic, Cole, Maxi, Poulsen (6M don't forget) etc. etc.
PLUS, we have a game on Monday, 72 hours before a return leg the other side of Europe, and you are assuming the same  'first teamers' will be fit and fresh for a game in one of the most hostile countries (in football terms) on the planet...
