Wouldnt want to take one nil away to turkey with the same team we have played tonight - we have been poor bar the goal and a ten min period after half time .

Its a win which is good but an ugly one .

Its 1-0,but it should havebeen 3 0r 4.
An away goal in Turkey should not be the hardest thing in the world to aquire. As long as we dont concede too many.

Hopefully if we get good chances on Monday night, we wont squander them the way we did tonight.....

Well its a win and torres looked sharp - other than that it was pretty poor and we wasted a good chance to get a bigger lead .

Very dissapointed to only get out of there with a 1-0 win.  Should have been at the very least 2-0.

At least tonight we seemed to create a few more in the second half but they were mainly down to Torres - showed exactly how important he is to us .

Well, a win is a win and I have no doubts we will see these off next week. Plenty of positives to be found but the crowd being so quiet summed the general performance up.

The  crowd were very quiet because overall the performance was poor and they only seemed to come alive when Torres had the ball .

We should have scored more and not a great game for us really.

Oh well, we played well for the first 15/20 min of the second half, but overall a little disappointing, despite the penalty and perfectly good disallowed goal. A lot of players looked rusty, but I saw enough from Poulsen to be satisfied.

Aquiliani must be wondering if he is ever going to get a game. A bit bemused he did play today, I was expecting him to replace Cole in the next few weeks and thought Roy would want to give him a run. perhaps it is Gerrard back in the hole, or even 442?

Prefer gerrard in that role and moving cole out wide and then bringing Aqualini in next to Masher . Cole looks more dangerous out wide .

Against Galatasaray or Fenerbache it would be very tough indeed, but Trabzonspor should be a level down from those 2.
The narrow 1-0 tonight means Roy is going to have to treat the 2nd leg with a full compliment of 1st team players.

With our first team we should have no probs but would be worried if we played the same sort of team .

Good interview from Hodgson . Agree with his positives from the game

Torres looking sharp and fringe players getting a game .
