So far it's still looking the same positives and negatives as previous seasons - look solid at back but still not creating enough chances

Ffs give them a chance. The second half performance with 10 men and at times only nine was gutsy in the extreme. If you think for one moment that a Benitez team would have adopted the same tactics at the beginning of the second half then you are sadly mistaken. THEY WOULD HAVE LOST TRYING TO GET A 0-0 DRAW!!

Liverpool damn nearly won except for a bit of bad luck. Arsenal hardly had a sniff at goal and that was as much due to Liverpool's defence as anything else. Come on Benny I no it's difficult for you but let's be positive and give credit where it is due.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

I know it's difficult to get excited about the performance on sunday after the quagmire we were all dragged through last year. Having the guts ripped out of you by the owners and our inept performances in the league, cup etc. Every year since 1990 every red fan has shouted from the roof tops "this is our year" to the point where we've become a bit of a laughing stock. For the first time in a while every red fan is somewhat sceptical and with good reason. Well, this year I aint saying nothing..........

do you not remember last season's home game against Everton?  ???

Victory over Man City would be a huge boost to everyone involved with the club.  4 points in the bag with West Brom coming to Anfield...  that'd be nice.

I really fancy us to nick a 1-0 at City on Monday. We looked VERY organised defensively on Sunday and I think that will pay off against the top sides away from home.

Couldn't agree more. After their draw at White hart lane, Man City will be under pressure to get 3 points specially being at home and may go for it. This will suit us.

I'm happy enough with what I've seen so far.  A point against Arsenal with a spare man was a pretty good result even though we deserved to win.

The performance was decent for the first game of the season, no doubt we can and will play much much better.

N'gog done well but we desperately need a half decent striker.  We lack options up front.

I agree, I'm definitely more optimistic than earlier in the summer. Options upfront are an imperative even with N'Gog doing well. Left back priority as well.

What a start!
1-1 with ten men for more than half the game to a strong arsenal.
I said in the second half that they would only score due to a blunder from one of our players. Thats how well we played.
I am made up for Roy and the lads to get off to such a good start. It could so easily have gone tits up after Cole got sent off. Well done to the manager and the players for having the balls to go for the win and we were very unlucky to get a draw in the end.
Keep up the good work guys!

i am in 100% total agreement with you mate i thought they did a good job a very good job, i was worried before that game but seeing them play the way they did with 10 / 9 men and only miss out on the 3 points because of a one off error has lifted me and i can't wait for the rest of the season to see how it pans out

so i'm in the happy clapping gang as well now  :D
