as for me no i don't think he is readt for a regular first team place, he has good pace & his awareness of the play is getting better when i see him, but he can still be abit niavive when it comes to playing the final ball, also he needs to become abit more selfish somtimes in front of goal. he will be a squad player next season & if he keeps his attitude & effort right then he will deserve more appaerences for me,i just hope he continues to learn from more regular first team football which it was a great descision alround to loan him out in the first place.

Does it matter if we think Nemeth should be in the squad? Will it make any difference? Let's have a poll, same as we did for Pacheco. The kid would probably go the same way as N'Gog, but some on here just like knocking some of our players so "anyone" is better than Kuyt/N'Gog/Lucas etc - probably the same ones who say we shouldn't knock Rafa, tinpot trophies etc. Roundabout ways of having knocks at players do my head in, people talk about signing a "quality winger" JUST to get Kuyt out of the side.

But the point is many on here have taken that to another level by adding insults.

It's gone from 'in my opinon he should give him a run out' to 'that fat idiot doesn't have a clue what he is doing he should play x'

Mate no one is saying that we can't voice our own opinions but some on here are taking it too far, speaking like they think they know what's really best for the team and everyone else's opinions are void by default as it doesn't match up with theirs.

Hannover manager Mirko Slomka has admitted that he is an admirer of Liverpool striker Krisztian Nemeth amid reports linking the Bundesliga club with the Hungary international.

The 21-year-old has yet to force a regular place in the first team at Anfield since arriving in 2007 and he spent time on loan with Blackpool and AEK Athens between 2009 and 2010.

Rafa Benitez's departure and the arrival of Roy Hodgson as manager has led to further suggestions that Nemeth does not have a future on Merseyside beyond this summer.

As a result, speculation has implied that Italian side Lecce have bid £1million for the forward and Hannover are also being linked, with Slomka admitting a previous interest but confessing that he does not know if the player is for sale.

Affordable

Slomka told Bild: "He is a good player with decent speed and he has been on loan at AEK Athens recently.

"He did not play many matches in recent campaigns and I am not aware if he is affordable."

But Hannover general manager Jorg Schmadtke said: "I am not aware of that player."

Nemeth's agent, Tibor Pataly, claims there is a lot of interest in his client and that he is looking for regular playing time.

"There are several interested clubs," Pataly said. "Some from Italy, Spain, Greece and even from the Bundesliga. We are looking for a club who will give him first-team experience.

Mixed feeling about this if I am honest .... I actually thought he would force his way into the first team with his instinctive finishing

Just as an interesting aside, not unrelated to Nemeth, I forgot to look at the make-up of the subs bench. Rafa leaned towards a 4-3 defensive-attacking split, Woy brought on two attacking minded subs although more like for like and still around the time Rafa used to make his

Subs vs Arsenal

Used : Rodriguez for Jovanovic (66), Torres for N'Gog (74), Lucas for Mascherano (79)
Unused : Cavalieri, Kelly, Aurelio, Babel

Three attacking options (Torres, Rodriguez, Babel) and four defensive (Cavalieri, Kelly, Aurelio, Lucas) Only one 'kid' as such, Kelly. I wonder how much the likes of Pacheco, Nemeth, Shelvey, Wilson etc will feature this season in the Premiership

You maybe right, featuring in the premiership may be a step too far for some. But with Europa League, FA Cup and Carling Cup I believe there is plenty opportunities to show off some young talent and provide a platform to be judged on.

I believe the kids wil get more of a run out this season but perhaps the UEFA Cup is the most likely competition (along with the League Cup) to see them blooded.

As for Nemeth, I think it's natural to get excited about young players who do well in the reserves but if Rafa didn't like him enough to play him, and Hodgson doesn't seem so fussed either (particularly when the kids have played all season) then i'm guessing the lad isn't quite up to scratch. Remember good old Neil Mellor absolutely tore it up in the reserves for a few seasons and showed the same 'intelligent running' and 'natural finishing' but he was never more than a Championship player.

As someone who is IMO clued up on our reserves, u18s and many foreign leagues (through watching not googling) i do find the lack of knowledge when it comes 2 players who arent on match of the day every week on this forum very shocking
