The previous managers chance to play him where hampered some what by injury and the fact he was constantly playing for spainish youth teams - let's also remember it was previous manager who brought him to club .

Agreed. But when he WAS available, and despite being player of the season for the Ressies, Rafa didn't seem willing to give him a sniff at the first team. Ditto for a pile of others he seemed to leave festering in the Ressies.
I'm not anti-Rafa by saying that, by the way, but I like to see some of the youngsters get a few games. It's good for their ambition, don't you think ?

It is good but there is a time and a place for when the kids get a chance - its hard to blood them during the prem or CL games when there is so much at stake- he gave plenty of then chances during CC and I expect Woy will do the same and maybe the away games in Europa where pressure is less

Big fookin' mistake if that happens.....then again, it could be the usual Sly Sports speculation.

Dont make excuses mate.
He should have been gradually blooded last season and was for me criminally underused.
To me it was one of the most baffling things about Rafa's final season, especially when we had no other players in that position.
Torres injured and only Ngog and still not a look in for Pacheco ?  ???

Teenage forward Dani Pacheco insists he has no intention of leaving Liverpool this season, instead targeting a regular run in Roy Hodgson's side.

Pacheco returned to Anfield last week on the back of an impressive tournament at the European Under-19 championships for Spain where he took the Golden Boot title for scoring four times.

The former Barcelona youngster was rewarded for his irrepressible form in France with a starting berth in the Reds' Europa League win against FC Rabotnicki last Thursday.

And the 19-year-old, who featured for the full 90 minutes at Anfield, is now eager to force his way into Hodgson's first-team plans, despite being linked with a move back to his homeland.

Out to impress
"I really want to do well for Liverpool and give my best," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"I have worked hard for this chance and hopefully I can impress the manager. I really enjoyed it against Rabotnicki and it made me happy to make my first start for the first team and play 90 minutes, but I have got to keep working hard."

Pacheco has been linked with a return to Spain with Real Sociedad and Malaga, but the youngster insists he wants to prove himself on Merseyside.

"I know there had been some talk but I want to stay here because this is a massive club and I want to make it work here," he said.

"I have reached the age when I want to be playing. I want to show the manager that I can stay here, do well for him and play for Liverpool. That is the only thing on my mind right now."

It was 'criminal' the way he was used.

One thing that really irked me about the way Pacheco was used was; firstly he hardly ever featured at all. He may get a 2min cameo here or five minute cameo there but that was about it.

Then, I think it was against Atletico, we were on the verge of going out with 10-15mins to spare (could be wrong about the time) and Rafa put him on ... 'Yeah no worries Dani, no pressure on ya shoulders, I don't trust you enough but you could save my bacon here'. That was the only time he really only ever got a look in last season, when the manager was well and truly on the ropes and hoped to God a kid could produce a miracle and pull him outta the s.hit. When for the rest of the campaign he was given the preverbial cold shoulder.

He's now staying, Roy loves him.  :hearts

Id love US to buy Turan and have him, cole and pacheco behind Torres. They can all switch positions we would play some awesome football. With Gerrard and Aqualiani in the midfield it would exquiste

Great to see that he is going to be given some responsibility - let's hope that he steps up to the plate.
