Nemeth and pacheco - Are either ready to step up?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Sabre » Sun Aug 01, 2010 12:25 pm

As a football fan you pay attention, but it hasn't got the 1% of impact.

BTW, local sources say, that besides knowing Liverpool doesn't feel like sending Pacheco on loan, Liverpool has offers for the lad from other clubs, around 3M, which is clearly not good enough, but it's nice to watch Pacheco's value increasing. That means he's doing things well. I hope his participation this season will be more important.

Just caught this on twitter. Surely good news? :)

Hodgson: "We also have Pacheco back ... and he is desperate to show us what a good player he is"

Pacheco has a new agent. Now the agent is his father. And he's desperate to get a loan for his lad. I think his father is doing no favours to his son the way he's speaking.

The father says that his son wants to play. His father should know, that what the lad needs is some patience. The father is saying things like the lad wanting to play wherever he gets games, and that the only problem are Liverpool. That's not proper talking IMO, as he's currently in the club that has given his son everything so far.

The teams interested, besides Real Sociedad, are: Espanyol, Genoa, Benfica, Malaga, Mallorca.

The father agent says that Liverpool will say the last word this week or the next one. In any case, you have to be calm, because it's all up to Liverpool F.C. But it's bad news to know he now has an agent that is thinking more on his retirement than in the well being of his son.

That doesn't sound good for us at all. But if he is happy here and Roy has a word in his ear telling him he will get some chances then surely he would be happy to stick around?

I think it all depends on whether Hodgson has the bleedin' cojones to give him a chance at the highest level, 'cos if he doesn't, I can see him asking to move on.
Rafa never gave him a sniff at the first team so it's no wonder the lad got frustrated as fook.

If he knows what's good for him, yes Bav. IMHO Pacheco should be happy with a season in which he progresively goes playing more.

But the Spanish history of football is full of players that were champions of the world sub 20 and then failed to have a decent football career.

If you look at the World Champions sub 19 of 12 years ago, there was Casillas and Marchena, but also Barkero, who's in segunda division, or players who didn't even make it.

There are too many parents wanting to get contracts to earn their own retirement and treat their sons like livestock.

Both Hodgson and Fernando Torres as an experienced player should advice the lad well. He's got to be patient. A loan won't make him harm, but his father is not behaving with the respect that deserves Liverpool.

Yeah good point, Torres should be mentoring him or something... another thing. If we get taken over by Mr Sheikh Chow Mein I can't see us giving many kids a chance to break through. But id be quite upset to see him go now before we even got to see him tested properly at senior level.

Malaga approach Liverpool FC over Spanish starlet
by Richard Buxton. Published Wed 04 Aug 2010 21:24, Last updated: 2010-08-04

Malaga have approached Liverpool in a bid to lure Dani Pacheco back to La Liga.

The striker returned to Melwood earlier this week after he led Spain to the final of the UEFA under-19 Championships but could be in line for a return to his hometown club after they enquired about his availability.

Since Real Sociedad expressed an interest in Pacheco, 19, last week several of their La Liga rivals including Espanyol, Mallorca and Levante have joined the chase.

The promising starlet has also attracted interest from Benfica, Olympiakos and Genoa.

Pacheco had welcomed a switch to Sociedad but has now opened the door to a potential homecoming by admitting that he is keen to return to Spain and will clarify his position at Anfield later this week.

"What I want is to have minutes and I would welcome my transfer to a team like Malaga, but I have to clarify my position in England this week," he told La Opinión de Málaga.

Yes, the problem is that he said that to La Opinión de Malaga, and his Father is saying the same thing to the local newspaper of my town, they're not acting right.

I can't blame the lad because he's too young. I blame the father and the people advicing him.

Slap a £10m price tag on him and tell him to button it.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Done himself proud tonight I thought. No nerves just got stuck in and played some good football. looked very confident and like a player who has just had a great tournament, loved the dummy from Cole's pass into Gerrard. The lad looks like he's got himself in the gym the past few months as well and the same goes for Ngog, they both look stronger.

I'd like to see him a bit more as this was the first time I'd properley taken any notice of him and I thought he was poor in places. But, keep using him and I hope my opinions can be changed.

Pacheco doesn't convince. He dropped deep too often last night and was often just a peripheral figure in the movement between Gerrard, Cole and Ngog. Also when he did get through on goal he appeared indecisive and unsure. Granted he's still quite young but to be honest I don't hold a lot of conviction he'll make the grade at Liverpool.

Agreed. His first start and he put in a decent show. Probably a bit over-eager at times, but it shows a lot of enthusiasm. Gives him hope that THIS manager has more time for him than the last one...
