I'm totally pi$sed off, I don't think we have signed a player over 4m yet as they have been mainly free signings and yes I know their wages add as money value but that goes without saying that we need to start spending a bit of cash in the next 2 weeks to have some players ready for the new season.

We have sold

Benayoun         6m
Reira                5m

And pending

Insua               4m
Masherano       25m

Total               40m

Plus the 15m Roy has had as his transfer kitty would of give
55m but lets face it that's a load of cr@p and I reckon we have a couple of 10m or less signings left and Roy is going to have to wheel and deal his best just as Rafa knew this with his
pre signing of Jovanovic  and Danny Wilson and Shelvy to a certain degree.

the deficit on net signings in/out is even bigger again thanks to the cowboys who run  our club as we get frig all again to spend so I hope Roy can find a few little treasures in the baron land of our transfer market.

Absolutely love the title of this thread :D

As for buying players, pah!
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Hleb is a fantastic shout, and so are Ireland and Bellamy,,,

Realistically, we need Santa Cruz more than the 3 above but if we can afford it I'd go for Hleb, Ireland then Santa Cruz in that order... Wouldnt mind getting rid of Babel and Kuyt in the process...

Sorry to be pedantic but is it really that hard to get the spelling of the players names right. Google.

It's not as bad as some on here who can even spell our own players names right.

There's talk of needing a new left back, but surely a new striker or preferably strikers is the number one priority. Are we going to have to rely on N'Gog again when Torres isn't playing? I voted for Bellamy but we need a more central striker.

The poll needs "other" but Steven Defour would be a great replacement for Mascherano, but I think other areas of the team need to be strengthened 1st.

You have OCD about spelling....I remember a while back you said I was "not a fan of our club" because I spelt Rafa with 2 ff's!

I really think that central midfield is a big a problem as left back and a backup striker. Our central midfield was a big factor in our inability to control games last year. I would like us to use the money from the Masch sale to buy two genuine central midfielders for the first team. Steven Defouf would be a good replacement for Alonso but Man Utd may snap him up.

Look at it this way. Trying to get 4th is going to even harder than it was last season simply because we have already lost it plus Spurs and City will be stronger.

I just want to see us blood in some of these young players. Sterling, Suso & Jonjo ect....
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Bellamy. we need more strikers! and Santa Cruz is very much like Morientes - suited to another league.

strikers i think are the no 1 priority again this season and van der varrt and (dare i say it)landon donovan would be the two i would choose.
imo santa claus is like babel in never fully playing to his potential.
id take ireland over bellamy if we had a few quid left.

if we had a another 12mil left then i would like to see defour come here.he seems to be coveted by a few clubs at the moment and could very well turn out like alonso.
oh if only we had money!!!
