Maybe Maxi and Mascherano haven't built up their fitness enough since returning to training.  Argentina went a round further than England

Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson were amongst the travelling party as Liverpool set off for Germany today.

Cole is in line to make his Reds debut in the friendly against Borussia Moenchengladbach on Sunday as the England quartet return to action following an extended break due to the World Cup.

The flight departed John Lennon airport around 3.30pm.

Liverpool: Gerrard, Cavalieri, Shelvey, Spearing, Irwin, Dalla Valle, Gulacsi, Johnson, Eccleston, Darby, Wilson, Ince, Amoo, Suso, Ayala, Aquilani, Carragher, Cole, Insua, Jovanovic, Aurelio.

Joe Cole makes his Liverpool debut in this afternoon's pre-season friendly against Borussia Moenchengladbach - watch exclusively live online from 12.30pm BST.

The midfielder joins England teammates Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson in the starting XI as Roy Hodgson names his strongest line-up of the summer so far.

Lauri Dalla Valle will lead the line in attack while Fabio Aurelio is named on the bench after re-signing for the club on Saturday.

Iraq goals website doesn't seem to have been updated since last weekend. Maybe try flicking through their channels after KO anyway just in case.
