Just for the record, I can reveal that the Mods received numerous, sometimes quite vigorous complaints about a whole range of rather mild comments that were nonetheless interpreted as digs or jibes directed at Rafa.  Interesting to see that the wind has shifted almost 180 degrees on this sort of thing now that a new manager has arrived.  Interesting indeed.

Now that has to be a new world record even for this place

As one of Reg's bemused masses I thought the new manager may have blown full time whistle on this inane little  spats which have been norm in this forum for last season or so.

Imagine my surprise when I realised it was only half time and not only had the teams swapped halves but shirts as well  :D

More interesting than this thread no doubt!  ???

I'm sure some members on here would like a set of rules you have to adhere to rigidly, what you can and can't call the manager, how you should show your support, what you can and can't say, which players you can and can't criticise/abuse, what competitions you can and can't belittle, what....................................

I'm sure you get the point, shame the people that want to control what others think, do and say don't................... Still don't see what this thread will achieve, other than more divide than there was before. I ignored people who called Rafa a fat spanish waiter or worse, I perhaps should have expected toys flying out of prams over "Woy". I expect it does include a grand majority who think it is ok to refer to the owners as twit n tw at and worse

The only question then is where the line is drawn.

Welcome to the LFC discussion boards nazi state

:no

The best place to draw a line is through this thread, if it is ok to call ANYONE names then there are no lines/boundaries. I expect those who do wish penalties for calling Woy "Woy" are people who don't think twice about abusing other forum members, and indeed high profile 'hate figures', the irony being those who are kicking up such a stink about such a piddling issue probably would have been banned several times already if the mods applied the letter of the law.

And talking of rules, how many people on here are so stupid they can't even avoid quoting russian dolls?!?!?!? Start carding mods, people will soon "wise up". Like footballers if you showed red cards for dives, time wasting and other offences, it would soon stop.

Interesting perhaps. But, is it really that surprising?

I think not.

I suppose such things are no more surprising and "ironic" than the fact that many of those who are most supportive of the new manager are the self same people who were most critical of the previous one. It stands to reason that those who felt the previous manager was fantastic are going to be less receptive to a new bloke than those who thought the previous fella was a busted flush.

As such, certainly from my point of view I don't find it the least bit offensive if people call him Woy. I think it's far more disappointing that some are not even prepared to give the bloke a chance before pouring scorn on him, given that the previous manager certianly had 100% for at least three seasons from what I could see.

Ultimately though it's worth remembering that it doesn't matter. As someone once famously said, it's only the internet and nobody dies. People posture, condescend, rant and rave, feign horror, abuse and argue from behind their keyboards, but ultimately it's all irrelevent. Roy doesn't read this forum I shouldn't think (and if he did he doesn't anymore after the last day or two ), and even if he did I'm sure he wouldn't be overly offended. he probably knew before he came that a large portion of the fans (a majority I should think) had no faith he could a good job whatsoever, so he has to turn them around.

It's a brave move to go for it and leave the safety of Fulham, and it's one of the reasons I've taken to him. Roy or Woy or whatever else you want to call him, I think he's alright.

Humourless, witless and ultimately disrespectful to our manager. My five year old nephew could come up with something more original... grow up and try to tax yourselves when attempting humour!!! It's ROY Hodgson manager of LFC.

You are mistaken
In the first post I was talking specifically about the infantile "Ive got evewy wight to say woy" subject
In the second I was talking specifically about how much support there was for the manager
Theres a difference
Subtle, I know, but a difference
As I said in the first post, I am no longer going to try to persuade people not to be childish.
Say lavvy.
