Yossi lifts the lid

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

we know for a fact that some players got on fine with rafa (kuyt, mascherano...) and we know for a fact that some didn't (riera, yossi...) and most of them we have no idea. doesn't mean that those who didn't are bad people and those that did are good, the players are entitled to opinions as much as the fans.

if you try and look at it objectively though (almost as impossible as it seems to be) it looks fairly clear cut there are issues about the ways that rafa benitez dealt with certain players. we also pretty much know (but again without being 100% sure) that one of these fall outs and bad man-management episodes was a major factor in our shít season last time out.

Good post.
I'm surprise no one mention Rafa was trying a "reverse psychology" on Benny.
Anyway, I dont see any problem a player criticizing another person who's no longer related to Liverpool.
And the way I see it is Benny was off before the departure of Rafa so I totally understand why he left. Who wouldn't if your boss treated you like the way Benny was treated?

Well if people think Benny left for greener grass, well I say good luck to him but don't forget that's exactly what Rafa did to us too, left for greener grass. Adios.

Here's my take, he want praise from the manager everytime he puts in a good shift, Rafa prefers to focus on the bad parts rather than the good. Thats his style, anyone whos read Carra, Gerrard's or Torres' book knows this. I'm very much with Nan on this one, the guys a tw@t for coming out with this sh!te. I'll certainly be adding to the hostility. See ya ratboy

this is going to turn into another anti and pro Rafa debate. The antis will praise his efforts in slating Rafa, the pros will call him a kunt, its getting massively tiresome, can we have the new season please? ???

This is exactly what I mean. In the takeover thread I was called a "disgrace" but its this attitude thats dragging us down. Always and constantly, its a constant redirection of the blame.

The antis and the pros.

Constant.

It shouldnt be called the "antis" and the "pros". Its should be called the "LFC supporters" and "those have paid to be Elite supporters".

Seriously, grow up.

No. He wanted to be rewarded for the good performances he put in. Like Crouch, like Keane, like Riera, like Alonso, he was mistreated. But sod it, lets turn a blind eye.

Benayoun signs new Liverpool deal
By Paul Walker, PA
Monday, 6 July 2009

Yossi Benayoun today signed a new Liverpool contract and insisted "playing for this club is a dream come true".
The Anfield club have rewarded the Israel skipper following his best season in English football with a new two-year extension to his current deal which has two seasons to run.
The 29-year-old told www.liverpoolfc.tv: "I am very happy that we have reached an agreement. Of course, to be at a club like this is a dream come true and I want to keep playing here.
"Hopefully now I can concentrate on the hard work that needs to be done and try to play better and better and win some silverware."

He follows Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Daniel Agger and Dirk Kuyt in committing his long-term future to the club.

Boss Rafael Benitez said: "You know that our idea was to extend the contracts of some players and Yossi was one of these players.

"He has been really good for us over the last year, scoring crucial goals and getting assists, so we wanted to keep him and I'm really pleased with the extension." .

He then had his head turned by RUSSIAN CLUBS INTEREST IN HIM. AND THEN CAME ALONG THE BIGGEST RUUSSIAN OF THEM ALL ,

"Talks are ongoing, and Yossi has made it clear that he would like to sign for Chelsea.

"However, who knows how the departure of Rafael Benitez will affect the move from Liverpool to Chelsea.

"The problem though, is that Yossi didn't play all the games at Anfield, and won't play all the time at Chelsea!"

"It is no secret that the player did not get on with the manager, and there was nothing more to it than the fact that Yossi thought he was playing well enough to have been in the starting line up far more often than he was.

"For that reason he wanted to quit Liverpool for Chelsea, but now that Benitez has gone, who knows, he might change his mind?"

But he didnt did he , and once he gets his dream move he then goes on to do a hatchet job on the man who made it possible for him to get that fream move, he then goes on  to talk about his fondness and how much repect and love for the Liverpool fans he had, Well big mistake in giving an exclusive to the sh.ithouse Babcombe and his sh.itty newspaper then wasnt it,

Another non-story, ex-player has axe to grind with former boss at former club. Since Rafa isn't here anymore and neither is Benayoun, what is the point in this? Arguably it should be in the general Premiership section, is it really about this club?!?!?

There is bound to be a lack of things to discuss between seasons and with the World Cup drifting slowly to a conclusion

Thats a bad hatchet job on Rafa our name still being dragged through the mud, so he thinks its acceptable to give an interview to the sunday S*n now he's left is that it?

Feck off Yossi you have been looking for a move for 2 years, the real reason you moved is for more money, anyway you where looking more and more like Gary Neville with that muzzy so good ridance scream mask face.

:nod

That's how to loose the respect and dressing room of your players. With the exception of a couple, there's a plausible reason why nobody came out and backed Rafa when he was sacked. They we're glad to see the back of him is my guess and hopefully as Yossi said the players will be much better off and happier without him in charge.

Surly when Rafa was sacked, he would have stayed as only Rafa was the reason he wanted to leave.?

Cecil told our fans away at Atletico that Rafa was gone, so I imagine Yossi knew aswell?

Rather have a robber than a liar he's gone for money end of.

or maybe the contract was already signed and if he changed his mind there would have been a breach of contract  ???

or maybe since he isnt getting any younger and his playing days could be over within 3 seasons it would be logical to earn as much before one retires?

the way some posters (not you) go on and blast Yossi for his comments its retarded. while football is our form of entertainment, its their job. they get paid. and if a better offer comes to any of us, we would take it. so you guys ought to shut the eff up about Yossi. he did nothing wrong, but simply gave further endorsements about what a rubbish manager Wafa is. and yes, its Wafa. and it'll continue to stay as Wafa until certain posters start showing respect and call our CURRENT MANAGER Roy by his name and not Woy.

I wholeheartedly agree with you mate but it's getting quite predictable who will defend Yossi and who will attack him before you click on the thread thats all

Christian Cecil Purslow: There is a transfer embargo on the players until we have a new manager in place.

Roy was here one day Yossi was sold the next.

Christian Cecil Purslow: The deal between Chelsea and Liverpool was arranged by Benitez

Paul Tompkins on Twitter:I have spoken to Rafa about Yossi leaving this morning, he didnt know he had arranged the transfer to Chelsea because he hasnt been liverpools manager for the last 4 weeks and he is bemused by it all

Someones lying who's lying? Cecil? Yossi? Rafa?
