It's a fitting as far as Uruguay are concerned... seeing as it should have been Ghana playing tonight. But it's all history now.  :D

The cheats got more than they deserved, a play-off for fourth which they ill deserve.

I appreciate that cheating happens a lot, but that was arguably the worst kind of cheating and at such a pivotal point. And of course the Uruguayans gained the advantage of the incident infuriating the Africans and making them wait to take the penalty, putting as much pressure on the kick-taker as the keeper. Ghana were never going to benefit much from the red card with so little time left, had the ball gone in or been awarded as a 'penalty goal' then Ghana go through, instead they have to try and beat the keeper again so effectively Uruguay got two bites at the cherry at stopping the ball going in.

To me it's much like the Schumacher cheating incident where Schumacher took him out of the race and therefore nicked the title. But for that collision Hill would have almost certainly won the title.

So justice is finally served, any decisions didn't go the way of Uruguay is just ice. They had an easy ride anyway, not as if France, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and then Ghana were world beating opponents, well we may never know how good Ghana are or how far they could have got because they were robbed of a chance to show us.

I reckon Suarez would have saved one or two of them dutch goals :D

I think the Dutch will win it, beating the Germans in the final. Robben to be man of the match after ripping a new ersehole for Boateng.

great achievement by holland, considering they've played well for one half in the whole tournament. average keeper, average defence and van persie woefully out of form. been carried by sjneider and robben in an attacking sense whilst dirk has been the unsung hero as usual.

germany and spain are both significantly better teams imo.

Nail on head St.. which beggers the question for mourners like me.. if Argentina had come second in their group, they would be in the final now. How can it be that winning your group and you end up in the hardest part of the draw/road  ???  The imbalance is huge

I'm gonna write to FiFa.. after the group stages they should draw again

Interesting - Blanc new french coach has vowed to ommit the players who casue trouble/can't be trutsed from his squad, Maradonna did the same with the likes of Cambiosa and Zanetti - wonder if Capelo should have doen the same with Terry?

Is a happy squad more important 'dutch team work- no squables' for a change then having the very best 23.. ???

I'd bet money that if Carra hadn't been suspended, Terry woulda been out of the squad for that game...

I still think Spain will win tonight, Viva Espana
