From Official...
Liverpool have today completed the transfer of Yossi Benayoun to Chelsea Football Club.

The two clubs last month agreed an undisclosed fee for the player, who joined Liverpool from West Ham in 2007, and the deal has been confirmed this afternoon.

The 30-year-old Israeli international made 172 appearances and scored 37 goals during his three seasons with the Reds.

A Liverpool spokesman said: "Yossi's departure was agreed between the player and Rafael Benitez a number of weeks ago. Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes him well for the future."

Very sorry to see him go. Think he's a quality player to be honest, very clever and those numbers say a lot. He averaged almost 60 games and 12 goals a season = a very important player for us. He used to be able to get on the same wave-length as Alonso, Stevie, Nando and Kuyt - hope we still have some of those players at the start of next season.

useful squad player, but nothing else for me. Would prefer to see him replaced with a decent winger.

Well we cant really blame him, chelsea are going in the opposite direction to us after all.

Not a big loss though anyways, he was a squad player on high wages and quite injury prone. Didnt really see much of him.

I cant really see the logic in chelsea buying him either... their squad is rediculously old as it is, they should reallly be spending more money on young players not more 30+ year olds :D fools

Best of luck yossi lad :;):

Bosingwa is probs just gonna kick your :censored: again, then you'll come crawling back

TBH im not ar.sed he has gone , in and out player yehhe had some good games for us ,and scored some important goals , gave me one of the best away days in years at Fulham, and im grateful for that , but id say it time now for Patcheco to move up on a permanat basis, Looks like the fight is on now between young Danny and Maxi,

See you Yossi .

BUt i had resigned myself to the fact that he was leaving weeks ago anyway.
I cant believe they would let Joe Coles contract run down and then spend money on Yossi  ???

I think its about reducing their wage bill

no mate, turns out he ask to leave in May.

For his goal/appearance ratio, he was a bit of a steal at the price Rafa got him for, but he was no more than a squad player at best and not good enough to be on that first team sheet week in, week out. Am I sorry to see him go? No. I'm sure our manager can find a viable replacement for him, that is if he's allowd to actually spend anything.

i there. i am a liverpool fan, so don't get me wrong...

but he didn't left for more money. the israeli media is saying that he reduced he's salary from 80K-85K a week to 70K by signing the chelsea contract...

so he definitely didn't left because of the money. speculations here say that he had a huge fight with rafa and left because of him... the deal was already closed when rafa was still around and didn't agreed with juve yet. it was only announced formally today.

anyway, i'll miss him at liverpool, but the team comes first.

he had 3 years to go in liverpool too... he signed a 4 years contract at liverpool at the beginning of the year... so he took a 15K p/w cut for 3 years which is about 2.3 million...

what i am trying to say is
1. that he didn't left for money, like many wrote here.
2. he left because of rafa, he didn't really wanted to leave. the deal was only announced today because after rafa left he had second thoughts, but because everything was already agreed he decided to complete the move.
3. the translation of what he said is :censored:... he didn't say "i am happy to move to a bigger club" he said "i am happy to move to a (different) big club"
4. he really loves the club (liverpool) and expressed it in the local media many times. don't make him the devil because he left us.
