So winning the CL was not good then?

What does that make Woy's season then Fulham finished 12th and didnt win a trophy.

I am talking about last season and how far backwards we went. The shape of the squad all disjointed and a consistent playing of players that were not upto it and a formation that wasnt working.

I am not for one minute saying he didnt do some great things, more that he had got it THAT WRONG last season and continued to do so for the whole season that virtually any manager with experience could come in and tweak a few things and do better.

So basically it comes down to 1 bad season means he must go? Did he not at least deserve the chance to that right the following year?

I know this is the modern game and managers don't get as long to prove themselves as they did 10 years ago but that's just crazy. Look who we have ended up with.

Rafa only ever had one GOOD SEASON.

Nope 3 good seasons.

last season, the season we won the Champions League and the season we won the F.A cup

finishing BELOW Everton (as we did in 5th place the year we won the CL) is not a good season.

and the year we won the FA cup...we were miles off the pace in the league then too...it has always been about winning the league.

Rafa had one good season, the season we finished 2nd and almost beat man utd to the Premiership.

So winning the CL is not a good season - winning the FA Cup is not a good season .

So what will be a good season this year then ??

No wonder managers dont have a chance with expectations like that

given a chance? Rafa had SIX YEARS and he only once came close to winning the premiership. Even then he cracked up under the pressure by making a complete t!t of himself on national TV with his FACT speech.

Rafa was brought here to win the Premier league and he didn't do it.  Roy Hodgson is now here to steady the ship and get us back into the top 4.  He'll do it too and he wont spunk away 100s of millions on sh!te like Lucas, Babal, Keane, Aquilani and Dossena to do it.

I also find it ironic when you talk about 'giving a manager a chance' when you refuse to give Roy Hodgson one.

Wait a minute when have i ever refused to give woy a chance ?

So we only have a good season when we win the league ?

And do you want to make a wager about Woy getting us back into the top 4

you can quote me on this but he wont get us back into the top 4 with our current owners - not in a million years

Its all happening @rse about face for me....we should have kept Kenny as caretaker until the club was sold and we got rid of the destructive yank scum. Then it would be the time to appoint a new manager IMO when we seen what sort of ££ was available to attract a manager with the required experience and credentials for the job, more importantly how much was put on the table for players.
No really good player is gonna want to come to a team with no ££ and up for sale. The smart thing would have been to wait keep Kenny in charge and wait on the yanks next move. That was all out of the clubs hands because even now when they cant wait to get rid of the club the yanks are still pulling moves, not to bring LFC forward but to save or make ££!

Say Torres and Gerrard do go,the yanks pocket the cash, take it off their debt or whatever..we get Roy and we sell the club, the yanks fuc'k off and our new owner slap £20m on the table, there ya go Roy,that is for players..where will we be then??
I cant believe people are happy and thinking anything good will come of this...from where I'm sitting we are deep in the sh'it!

I do not want Roy Hodgson as our manager,I think it would have been a backward step even if the yanks were not here and we had no financial trouble...I think to sack Rafa and bring him in is daft, its not an appointment that shows any ambition......if you look at it staright, hes probably the only manager that would have came that is "decent" then theres the fact he aint gonna cost much compared to anyone we would have like to have seen....Imagine that the yanks involved and taking the cheap option.
Saying this I do not blame him for taking the job, given he is at Fulham who in reality will never really be a top 4 team.He has nothing to loose a chance to manage LFC with no pressure,if he fails who will blame him given the mess we are in...if he succeeds he'll be hailed a messiah!

I'll give the man my support cause none of what is going on is his fault.....but I just have a very bad feeling about our future!

The day those two yank kunts stepped into our club was the first day of our downfall....how lower can we go?

Not going to answer the question then ? Is it only a good season when you win the league and doesnt that mean we have been 20 years without a good season despite all the trophies we have won ?

finishing 5th is not a good season, regardless of WHATEVER CUP WE WIN.

if we finished 2nd..or 3rd and won the cl then yes, it would be a good season. But 5th?? Below EVERTON??

Would yous all have been happy or accepted if when Roy if and when the Klinsmans saga went one and Rafa would of walked then,I have had so many text and phone calls today ridiculing how our standards have been lowerd its untrue

If he wasnt acceptable then , still the same owners ,still the same dept .why is he acceptable now,

You had what looked like progress back then, Nan. It would have been the wrong time to change the manager as he was finally beginning to deliver in the league - if not to everyone's pleasing. Last season we didn't just not build on that progress, we fell an absolute mile back, and that's why some of the lesser names have become more acceptable than they were back when we were 2nd.

HA HA i dont think ive explained meself right as usual.
Remember when At the Madrid game it was nailed on that Rafa was gonna walk according to some on here, Well if he had gone then what would the reaction of been to appointing Roy, Same owners same dept, same turmoil at the club,

Yes you say everyone thought we were progressing then but whats the difference we have had one bad season but we still have the  same group of players  who most managers in the world would love to work with ,why Roy, im sorry but we have lowerd our standards and i for one find it totaly unacceptable,

Look at it this way a few seasons ago we were arguing with each other because we wernt challenging for the league , we have had one bad season , now people are happy to have a mediocre manager come in just to try and get us into the top four, Why is that Acceptable.

if you consider finishing 5th, BELOW EVERTON, a good season then you are a fool.  Either that or you have no idea what Liverpool FC is about.

We won the CL - the trophy we treasured for so long in the 80s - coming 5th or 4th or 3rd made no difference at all - it was a fantastic season .

I am willing to bet with you that we will finish below Everton this season and it wont be in 5th place either.
