If you've nowt POSITIVE to say then please refrain from posting.

works both ways.

But people haven't been throwing insults at you and many people don't believe there is anything positive to see from appointing woy as manager and they are within their rights to suggest as such

What's your point?

Rafa's Liverpool dropped from 2nd to 7th

So who would you have in charge?

Well.. i wouldnt of sacked of a manager that the CL winners were after and chase the EL runner up :)

He would have walked anyway if the owners are going to have this fire-sale of players that is being talked about. Rafa was 3rd choice on the CL winners list, with Capello and Hiddink turning them down.

Besides you cant judge a manager by that barometer, as given the choice I bet that Inter would rather have kept Mourinho than have rafa. How many fans on here would prefer mourinho to Rafa?

Well... if it is to be Roy - he has my full support. I hope that he can persuade the important players, those needed to help us remain a 'force' in the current climate, to stay.

I have great faith that true reds on here, will give him their support too, even with heavy hearts and doubts.. that is the Liverpool way.

Tell me what it is that says to you that things may well turn around ? What is the positives with the appointment of Hodgson or is the answer to all those simply - rafa is not manager anymore

I think the positives so far as Hodgson goes are this: (ps. not saying these are all my views but a summary of why some think he can come in and do a decent job.

- His recent success for Fulham
- He knows the English league and won't need that time to figure out the epl transfer market the way a foreign manager might need to.
- He's seen as a safe pair of hands
- He has a lot of experience in Europe (see his time with the Swiss national team, clubs in Europe and last year's UEFA cup run with Fulham)
- Whilst lacking in big club experience he spent a couple of years at Inter Milan where he is regarded to have done a good job.

Likewise the negatives could be seen as:

- He is somewhat a journeyman manager never really having achieved anything. A mid table finsh in the premiership is ok but other lowly managers have managed that
- He is probably not a the type of manager could could attract big name players. We know that Rafa and his past success was instrumental in bringing players like Torres and Reina to Liverpool.

Also his fist stint at Inter was not really a success. Wasn't his win rate under 50%? Even for Inter at that time I don't think you can consider that good

He done ok at Fulham. Caused a few upsets as far as individual results goes but nothing on the sort that could allow people to call him a tactical genius or anything.

This is essentially a big step down for us. We have seen in recent years how we have gone for bargain basement players, freebies ect... and now our first bargain basement manager is on his way.

Apologies if I am not as optimistic as others.

my point is basically that we're downgrading.  I think everyone can see that but a lot of people are afraid to admit it cos they spent so much time criticising Rafa.

A lot of people thought Jose or hiddink would come in and take us forward.  i knew that wouldnt happen.

Should Rafa have been sacked?  Thats debatable and he possibly should of been but the timing was wrong in my opinion.

new owners was always and still is the highest priority.  However, i really do Roy will have lots of success.

If people want to accept mediocry thats up to them, but dont expect me to jump through hoops at this appointment because its a disappointment.

As I said, Rafa would have walked anyway if the owners are going to have this fire-sale of players. Hiddink, Deschamps have turned us down. The board/owners have said no to Kenny. We have no choice, little point in berrating Roy for it. Accept it and move on with what is really bringing down the club: Owners Out!

In your opinion it is downgrading because of his past managerial exploits, but that isn't necessarily a downgrade in everyone else's eyes, regardless of what they thought about Rafa. Just an open mind and seeing if someone else can do a better job.

It's a risk, but one that had to be taken as Rafa would have walked out if this fire-sale does happen. So better to do it now hey.

Not happy if it's Roy, but what can I do send a tenner and go on a march and hope the media pick up on it? Come on it's comfy here on the internet ffs. I'm gonna sit back and leave it up to others to fight and when star players are sold or want to leave, middle of the table finish and the club don't get sold, It still won't have anythin to do with me[/99.9% of fans]
