Of course we will be able to spend it. There is absolutely no proof what-so-ever that we wont.
We spent all of it last year. We spent all of it the year before... and the year before that too.

When Houllier was sacked Moores & Parry had a list consisting of MON, Rafa, Mourhino, Strachan, Curbishley.
Thats two world class managers on that list and we got one of them, this list consists of Kenny, Hodgeson, Sven, Pellegrini and Rijkaard. The worst name on this list is Hodgeson yet he maybe our manager today.

like it or lump it Ciggy its down to the club talking too much time in letting Rafa go.
big named managers held off as long as they could in taking other jobs to see if the liverpool job was going to come up, other jobs come up before the liverpool one so they took them.
at the start of the year JM said he wished to comeback to England, he club he hinted at was Liverpool but we was never going to be able to give him the spending power he was looking for.

we sold Alonso last year for 30 million. We only spent about 8m on johnson. (portsmouth owed us money for Crouch). And we only actually paid 5m up front for Aqua man.
And about 1.5 for the Greek. Were did the rest of this money go?

We certainly did not.
Exactly! Although this will probably get converted to an argument of "net spend" which if they did all the way along they'd find assets do sell for more, less and the same as they were bought so "net spend" is a pointless measure. Besides which, what does selling Alonso for £30m have to do with how much Rafa spent?!?!? Good business to make a 300% profit, but it doesn't mean Rafa spent less than he did.
And as I've said before, people tend to base their ravings over Rafa on his CL success, just focusing on the league and his record is VERY similar to Houllier (not that it isn't with cups, but people will always shoot their loads immediately over Istanbul)
LAST SIX LEAGUE FINISHES
Houllier : 7th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 4th (average 4th)
Rafa : 5th, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 7th (average 4th)
Yet I've read several times the same myth, albeit rephrased in terms of success/failure, that Rafa has been the only manager not to fail since Kenny. Well technically speaking all managers who haven't won the league have "failed" in their quest. Doesn't matter how many crystals you collect in the crystal maze, you don't collect enough gold tokens and you don't walk away with THE prize
And it's funny how much blame is laid at the feet of the owners, yet Rafa's best league finish and Liverpool's highest points tally in the Premiership all came with the new owners. Perhaps that proves my point about the perception and how Istanbul is essentially THE one thing Rafa is given excessively excessive credit for - brilliant night that it was.
And with the new owners and all the hatred for them, how is it that one season Rafa could be on the brink of winning the league title, then the next season we drop from 2nd with 86 points to SEVENTH with 63 points? Wasn't because we were forced to sell Reina, Mascherano, Torres or Gerrard, but arguably because Rafa had already readied Alonso's departure and that went through ie it was as big an own goal as any of the league winners Souness decided to sell when he had a clear out of players who WERE good enough for Liverpool FC

Its easier to win the scuddetto than the premier league! Harry Redknapp, has done a wonderful job at spurs. He's only won the FA cup in 27 years of management. Hodgson has won more things but with smaller clubs. He got Switzerland FFS, to rank number 4 in the world! Something this golden generation of ours would love to be able to attain to.
Since Wenger, too many have jumped on the foreign band wagon. Ramos, Erikson, Grant, Cappello, Rafa etc. Havent been fantastic successes have they? CL win aside, 1 FA cup for 5 years is appalling. Houllier won more in one season!
We need British and Hodgson is a calming influence, tactically sound, and plays football the right way. None of that dreary 1 up front, 2 holding midfielders pish.
Im an optimist, and really believe that we still have the nucleas of a very good team if they are playing without fear. Look what fear has been doing to the cream of englands talents? Now take the shackles off and players play 20-30% better.
If masch goes we get 30m extra to spend. So, we could have 55m to spend this summer. A good manger will get some good players for that.
Just how many scuddetto's did Hodgson win? Zero.
Ancolotti struggled to win the title for AC Milan. 1st season at Chelsea he wins the double. How do you explain this?
Oh and since when has Hodgson played expansive attacking football? I must of missed that.

Yes the club has to pay 110,000 a day interest.
And people think Woy is getting 50 odd million to spend hahahahahaha
