Listen for me the one defining reason why I don't personally subscribe to this support your nation sh*te is that England for me have never truly been a card carrying member of the best teams to play in this tournament and that stems all the way back to the 70s ....
This is the World Cup it is described as the "GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH " it is a competition like no other ,32 teams compete  for one prize the most illustrious trophy in football and yet  our national media, and the easily excitable England fans would have you believe  that everything else is just simply a sideshow thrown for England's  benefit ??? but even if it was possible to forget all this ,it also has to be said that listening to an England fan go simply euphoric over the thought of Gerrard lifting the World Cup, whilst at the same time proclaiming him to be the finest midfielder on the planet ,when all season we have had to listen how they deemed him inept when compared to the all conquering  Lampard
So no thanks I think I prefer the honesty of my own fans who will quite openly tell all that will listen Gerrard was truly poor this season
and England will once again flatter to deceive
???

Poor English fan
Italians and turks put out knives, more Germans fan get arrested at France98, it hardly mentions a murmur
Yet even today a English fan farts in wrong direction and its front page Hooligan horror hijinks headlines

80s were a long time ago and people should just  ignore tabloids and enjoy spectacle that is the World Cup

Yes I am a blast at parties (The proverbial life n soul ) ,and also like you awaiting eagerly the start of the World cup ,but not because England are involved  ??? because its a feast of International football at its very best ... in which the South Americans will beguile us with their sublime skills along with the sheer lung bursting pace of the African sides ,The Germans will again show their clinical methodical efficiency ,The Italians will provide a more measured laboured approach but as proved time and time again it works  ,The Spanish have a team brimming with precocious talented individuals just waiting to explode on this tournament ,The Dutch have the ability to win this hands down if
(and this is  a big if )they play as a team .....
England have a Great manager and some fine players in Rooney and Gerrard but the defence fills me with trepidation every time I see Johnson surging forward (Carragher will be all too familiar with this scenario )and perhaps that's why he has been included  ???
So just because I am not jumping through hoops at the thought of watching Enggggurrrrland don't condemn me for it   ???

Will people still support Spain if Torres goes? If anyone is to lift the WC for England id rather see a Liverpool player lift it than a manc.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

I just want to watch it for the spectacle it is mate ,not the slightest bit concerned over who lifts it ,I'm just going to  sit back and enjoy a veritable feast of football I really would love it to be a complete outsider who eventually wins it   ???
(Not like I have £50 e/w on Paraguay at  40/1 or anything like that   :D )........

Not to worry, Daws, I'll be supporting England.  Just so long as they're not playing Spain, the Argies and of course the mighty Swiss, that is.  :buttrock

Used to love watching England when i was younger , but when i started going the match all the time LFC took over in a big way . I don't have room for two loves i'm afraid , just LFC . i'll hope England do well in the world cup , but won't be that @rsed if they don't . Hope Gerrard gets to lift it and Carra and johnson have good tourney's ,other than that hopefully Terry will break his leg .
