After Tom Hicks said Rafa Benitez would have a substantial transfer budget he is reported to be given Rafa just 5m.

Better start looking in the basement of Primark Rafa lad.

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)

well there are no quotes, from neither the manager or anyone associated with the club hence this is merely fabrication.
furthermore, the article states "according to the Daily Mail" not the "Tom Hicks said" as stated in the first post.

Wouldn't give him a pound - Rafa Can't be trusted with Money - he is a total failure - Owners should ship him out and follow his footseps.

you're quoting Roberto's comment in his post. i was referring to the article itself, which states "according to the Daily Mail".

You got your wires crossed. Hicks said in a TV interview that Rafa would have a "substantial transfer budget". By "after..Hicks said", those are the comments Rob Green is referring to. He didn't say Hicks "said" anything about this latest separate newspaper claim that there would be just £5m to spend, hence "he (Hicks) is reported...".

If the leak had been to the Mail that Benitez had £80 million this summer to spend the Mail would have tried to manufacture a story out of it like "Benitez promised £80 million but only if other players are sold" or "£80 million for Benitez to save his job in three months". If Liverpool are struggling to complete any transfer deals i.e. Wilson how did they manage to sign Jonjo Shelvey? I wouldn't expect a rag like the Mail to print anything else quite honestly - when the summer window is over on August 31 we'll be able to see exactly how much Benitez had to spend.

Think about it, why would you be investing heavily in a club your trying to offload??
I remain hugely sceptical of anything Hicks says, susbstantial? WE WILL SEE!
