Redman in wales wrote:I can see where you are coming from, but I don't quite agree.  I think he wanted to stay at Chelsea and build that future. He left after (reported) major disagreements with Abramovic, and he left the club "by mutual consent" which usually means go before you're pushed. (Not saying this was definately the case, but all the press reports around at the time, and afterwards had him saying things like we wanted to stay, but it got too difficult to continue etc etc) Then at Inter, even before he won any of his treble this year, he stated that he didnt like Italian football, and the writing was on the cards then. He could have not won anything this year, and I think he would have moved on regardless as he didn't like it in Italy.

Well you know the old saying Redman "Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd,
Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd." ... from the astute  words of William Congreve (The Morning Bride ) ......

I think this sums this particular Signora up to a tee  :D

The best manager in the world by far. Inter were nowhere on Euro terms when he took over. NOw they are the best team in Europe (beat Barca on the way) and won the treble for the first time in their history and had very little net spending on the way.

We'd all wet ourselves if he got the job.

would he take it though? work in a league that is dominated for two teams and having more financial constraints than them two. I'd be shocked if he came to us and took up a challenge that would take years to develop fully.

He says he will go to England after Real - I wonder where, I put good money on whoever it is will have loads of money and be in the running for the title before he gets there

as much as i like him and would love to see him here, i dont like how he is talking as if he is already the RM manager when Mauricio isnt even sacked yet. very disrespectful to a fellow manager.

Is it, though? Have I ever asked that Rafa be given funds to outspend every other team in the league?

No? I didn't think so.

Nice to see him making friends and exercising a little humility from the very start ....... the following quote is taken from Spanish newspaper Marca

1225 BST: Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he will be the one making decisions about the Real Madrid first team and not president Florentino Perez should he leave Inter Milan and take over from Manuel Pellegrini as coach of the Spanish side. "The president is not the one who wins, he's not the one who plays and nor does he decide who is in the team and who is on the bench," said Mourinho in Spanish newspaper Marca. Mourinho's net spending has been very low at Milan, as it was at Porto.

The best get the choice of the best in any sport. Mourinho is going to the biggest club in the world, If he goes to england then he'll either go to Man City or Man utd (if there finances are in order).

Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa = Porto Fc ,Roman Abramovic = Chelsea,Massimo Moratti = Inter Milan ,and finally Florentino Pérez = Real Madrid
Richest club in Portugal ,richest club in England ,richest club in Italy ,richest club in Spain ???
can you see a pattern ???

At Porto he certainly made the most of limited resources in European competition, but you can't compare the achievement of winning the Portuguese Superliga with winning say, the Premier League, on relatively limited resources. At Inter he most definitely didn't have limited resources as £13m on Muntari, £15m on Quaresma, Motta & Milito £22m, £13m on Sneijder, £5m on Lucio and Goran Pandev on a fortunate free, tells you. Quote the £40m + Eto'o (that sh!t player thrown in for a laugh like) they received for Ibrahimovic if you wish but that £40m represented a barmy bit of business on the part of Barca as Inter were more than compensated for the loss of their main striker. The significant point is that he had more than enough financial opportunity to improve the squad to his desire. This was no "limited resources" jobby. Bearing in mind the level of Juve, Roma and AC Milan and the fact that the squad he inherited had dominated the league for a good few seasons prior to 2008 and it suggest that he wasn't "up against it" in any serious sense in the challenge to win serie 'a'. If he didn't win it, serious questions would have been asked. Combining it with the other achievements especially the CL is a different matter altogether. That's what makes his achievement there "special". But my question here is; could he achieve similar success in one of Europe's top leagues without the level of financial support he received at Chelsea or Inter? At a club like ours? How long would it take him to win the league if he took over this summer (I'm not suggesting he is about to)? I think there are enough significant differences in the jobs he took on at Porto, Chelsea and Inter to ask that question without concluding uinstantly that he could come here and achieve similar feats. The challenge is altogether different.

Just to reiterate what I've said before; I think he is a great manager (not in the sense Benny uses the word either), even the best there is right now (how can he not be after his recent successes) but could he do the business on a limited budget in a tough league? If he were to then I would say he is special AND has balls.

why do you thiink all the top clubs want him? Madrid have spent a fortune but got nowhere in the CL yet again. Kevin Keegan spent massive money for the time but won nothing.

Are people seriously suggesting sneider for 13m and Lucio for 5m and selling the usless Ibrahamovic for 40m is the sign of a  manager who needs more money than his rivals?

Porto won it with him FFS.

There isn't a club in the worlld that wouldn't sack their manager in the morning for Jose.

I think he is an all time great.

I think the days when a Brian Clough could win the league spending what he did at Forest (although Francis,Fashunu were expensive) are long gone.

even ferguson looks bad compared to him , just 2 euro cups in decades, and wenger -zero.
