He's a good sub IMO but I have my doubts whether he could play week in week out and be consistent. If we can get a good chunk of cash for him I don't mind to be honest. Good player and he's offered us some great moments, if he wants to move on he can
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Chelsea eye another Double as Blues ready bid for Liverpool duo Yossi Benayoun and Javier Mascherano

Chelsea are weighing up a double move for Liverpool's Javier Mascherano and Yossi Benayoun.

The Double winners realise Liverpool are vulnerable to offers and have earmarked the duo to reinforce their ageing squad with Michael Ballack and Joe Cole expected to leave.

Liverpool do not want to sell to Chelsea but if the financial offer is bold enough they may have little choice with Rafa Benitez's budget almost non-existent.

Mascherano has shelved talks on a new contract while Benayoun is hoping to discuss a move to Stamford Bridge for around £6m this week.

Benayoun, 30, said: 'Ancelotti wants me for next season and now everything depends on Liverpool. Chelsea will have to pay some £6m but I believe that in the end I'll be moving there.'

I'm worried about our players leaving because I know the money raised will be used to lower the debt rather than signing replacements.

C'mon, Benayoun isn't woth 10+ million.
The circumstances are not in our favour.
He isn't english, 30 years, not much left on contract
and the player have expressed a desire to leave. Not to mention we(or the vermin) might need the money.

Milner is totally different on so many levels.
He is English, is capped, pretty young, on a good contract, haven't expressed his desire to leave. Villa isn't really in need of money either.

If that quote's accurate, then he's gone, at least in his own mind.  As far as I'm concerned, he can go and thanks for the memories.  Same goes for Masch or anyone else who WANTS to leave our club.

On a general note, the club is the fans.  Any overpaid prima-donna who wants more cash elsewhere and who doesn't want to fight to put the club back where we should be can just feck off.

Meant to add ... I'd rather we sold everyone who wants to go or isn't 100% committed to fighting for LFC and started to build a quality team out of youth players and those few good players who know how lucky they are to pull on our shirt.  I'm serious.  I'd rather we spent a few years gathering slow momentum and built a fresh, exciting team around a body of young, talented graduates from our youth system and any quality we can buy in.
