The opinions that are backed by actual people with names and surnames, when they get strength, when they reach the press because of that strenght, they become important.
It's not the same thing, Purslow will never agree to meet Bigmick just because he's an influential forum member, but he has met an association of supporters, why? because anonymous internet forums do not count as much as real people with names.
And Purslow would never give an interview to the individual supporter at the ground. Its exactly the same thing.
The difference is publicity. SOS got there interview, but as Ciggy pointed out in another thread, he lied.
If it really is the case where "Forums opinions are a pile of bytes that go nowhere, like a bottomless sack" then we can dismiss Igors points of views, as well as nannys, and scottbots, and pretty much a majority of people on forums.
And despite me not agreeing with the stance of the SOS, I do agree with the priorities, they are just not much different to mine as a standard supporter of LFC. I just dont see why people would pay to be a member of the SOS when they already stand against the bad things affecting this club. People already pay the ticket prices, for the shirts, the names to go on it, the watches, the pens and everything else LFC related. The encouragement to boycott matches, why would I pay for that entitlement? If I ever could afford to attend Anfield, I would be damned to give up that ticket to boycott the bloody match. I would watch on and give what support I could.
And I, like many others, even yourself Ivan as a supporter have come on this forum and gave an account of yourself on your matchday experience against Atletico. Forums have many opinions, and many people who join to share the experience. Look on the official site, they even have a forum.
So no, its not a pile of bytes. We are actual people who have been there and done that.
