Ryan Babel says reading The Bible has helped him cope with his move to Liverpool

Babel has brought a lot of mixed emotions, but having seen him for quite a while, i've been one of his fiercest supporters. I know the potential and firmly believe this is one player that is going to do wonderous things for Liverpool.

Lately, i've been likening him to a player who I wish was still actually with us as he draws a hell of a lot of comparisions from a fan's point of view - Luis Garcia.

Many fans have labelled Babel as a ball waster, but I see him doing thus far exactly what Luis did - score goals and plenty of them. I actually feel that Babel will surpass and totally eclipse Garcia's contribution to Liverpool, but i've been interested to see a lot of fans come around to Babel in the last few weeks following his recent goals. Even Ronaldo took time to settle and I think that is what is happening with Babel. The lad's the real deal and in 2 years, he'll be tearing the ar$e outta defenders for fun, believe me.  :nod

Watching him play now at L'pool. I see I was right about him. He hasn't changed since his ajax days (those were :censored:). Too overrated.

Babel will be worldclass by the time he's 25. His pace and power puts the sh!t up defenders. His goal tally makes good reading considering how many of those goals have come from him being on the left wing or coming off the bench. A good buy for us in the future.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

I thought ryan babel was our best player last night , adn he was substituted by the "genius " rafa Breastnez . He seems to have adapted to that left flank role , and has been playing well in his last 2 starts , hope he starts against inter .

Was the star man on Saturday but was the first to be subbed which was a strange decision from Rafa. If that doesnt destroy your confidence nothing will.

I thought it was very strange as well. Haven't heard rafa's reasoning for it but I am sure it has to do with some complicated fitness training testing score that limited the amount of minutes he could play on Saturday if he wanted to be available for the full 90 on Tuesday.  Kewell was terrible as soon as he came on, but if he would have hit that shot all would have been forgiven.

Babel was good first half against Inter, went missing in the second and was rightfully subbed. Still young and learning.

He's been ok, but without much end product.

Precisely.  I'm still not very convinced by him.  He's good at working space to shoot around the edge of the box but he always seems to blast wide or blast over.  I just wish he'd work the keeper more in those situations.

i think he's a average winger and an awful signing when you consider we paid 11.5 million.
