Yet another assist from Mo...just how good is he now?

Just give him the contract

Superb performance could've easily been 10. Slaughtered them and sent a huge statement to the rest.

Btw what's situation with Chiesa?

Football contracts are offered for what you’ve done rather than what you are going to do, with the assumption you continue on. With that logic he does deserve a new contract as he has played at legend level for as long as he’s been here.

Terrific win but we've only just reached the halfway stage and the wheels came off us pretty rapidly and pretty dramatically last season when we were also sitting top so we cant let complaceny creep in. The next 2 months or so will probably decide the title imo, Arsenal are going to be without their best player and you just get the feeling that if we can string a few back to back wins together, no dropping silly points like against Newcastle and Fulham, then there's a decent chance they'll crack.
Even for a club like us league title wins are pretty rare, this is not Scotland or Spain where 2 clubs have 50 titles each, in the near 140 year history of the pro game in this country we have only won 19 of them and we are talking about English football's most succesful club here so it just shows you how big a deal winning the title is in this country. Our players arent just winning games they are writing their names and the name of this club into the annals of history.
Football is not just a sport its part of the cultural fabric of this country, who you support is a part of who you are, in this country you are far, far more likely to be asked who you support than who you vote for or wether you are catholic or protestant or gay or straight or whatever, what the lads are doing now has real significance, to the people of this city a title win would be as meaningful and as culturally significant as the Beatles releasing an album or Shakespeare penning a sonnet, our lads need to understand that they must keep their foot on the gas, winning games like this one is incredibly important, as the great northern writer JB Priestly wrote donkeys ago if football is just 22 men kicking a bag of wind around a field then a stradivarius is just a bit of catgut and wood and the mona lisa a bit of canvas and paint. Just keep effin winning.

Good post yakka.

Wonder how long Gomez will be out for, Slot said it won't be a quick one. FSG need to dig in and make use of this Jan window. We've got such a great chance for glory this season. Tight w.nkers need to open up their purse.

No matter how good we look its so important none of these 6-3's and 5 nil's goes to anyone's heads and each player still goes into each game prepared to scrap like a proverbial junkyard dog. We cannot take anything or anyone for ganted. This type of stuff is not just a load of old chetnuts and platitudes, we've seen it ourselves. Last year hotels in Dublin were all booked up, our fans, nuetral fans even the bookies had pretty much already handed us the trophy and even UEFA were holding talks with the Irish authorities and arranging overspill venue's but Atalanta had other idea's. The way we unravelled at the end of last year, especially given it was Jurgen's last season was heartbreaking but if it serves as a warning to us this season some good may come of it yet. Nothing is over until its over. We know this because we've recently been on the wrong end of it. Lets not make the same mistake two seasons on the run. Come on there's miles to go yet.

Great posts. Exciting times. I'm mystified at the ongoing contract discussions, but happy that Liverpool seem to have been able to keep them private to date.

Yup long way to go yet so we must've get complacent. All it takes is consecutive dropped points and the others will be breathing down our neck.

I don't get Arsenal game on Wednesday, doesn't make sense. But when we kick off on Sunday against United, Arsenal could potentially be 3 points behind us, given we've got games in hand.
