We've been poor at the back tonight, GK gift but overall poor defensively.

I'd say it was a fair result because Newcastle did give us a game. We were poor at the back tonight.

Not the end of the world coming away with a point. Frustrating to get back into it twice and then take the lead only for a moment of lunacy to throw it away.

Kelleher has a error in him, he did the same at the end of one of Ireland games recently. That's a bad 2 points to lose, especially when we fought hard to get infront.

To fight back like that just to be undone by a stupid mistake at the end. Slot didn't do us any favors with that selection either and both Quansah and Gomez were poor today.

Why? Have to think we blame refs a lot, granted with legitimate reason from time to time, but from what I read on the beeb (didn't see the game) we were error strewn for a lot of the game.

Those 2 are imo the weak link on the team

We need a CB in January tbh. I think it's clear if Konate gets injured then we're in big trouble. We need 3 world class CBs to compete in all competitions.

Love Arne but to start that game with that back 4 when Trent was fit enough to play is borderline criminal. Even when Mo put us 3-2 up i knew there was no way we were holding on to that lead. 2 points thrown away by poor team selection imo

He trying to rotate the squad and protect players from burn out.

But we don’t have the squad depth to do that.

Quansah shouldn’t be anywhere near the first 11 - he needs a loan to build his confidence.

I also think Gomez will probably leave to find first team football because he isn’t going to get it here on a regular basis.

Hopefully Ali will be back soon, because we can’t gift goals like that. Those 2 points could come back to haunt us at the end of the season.

Not blaming him for the result but just thought he was poor in general. That card he gave Mc Alister was for nothing and similar offences didn't get same.  He kept blowing up for soft frees that disrupted the flow of the game. Seemed like he gave Gordon and Guimares everything.

As bad as the errors where , we came back twice and then took the lead. The points dropped are down to Kelleher chucking a brainfart in the end.

I thought the ref was awful, he allowed them to play with that intensity yet flagged us for fouls on much softer ones. At the end with Newcastle on a break he blew at least two minutes early as it took Newcastle that long to play that free kick in injury time. Other than that, we cannot win every game and we least we got a point.

The likes of Gomez and Quansah are decent squad players, players like that can do a job for the team just as long as you havent got too many of them in the line up. The more of them you have in your starting XI the weaker the team gets. Now sometimes ccircumstances dictate and you havent got a choice but yesterday we did, Trent was clearly fit enough to play.
Looking at our right hand side Gordon must have thought Christmas had come early, not only did we have Gomez and Quansah who have both got a mistake in them but Mo too, and as good as Mo is going forward he has never been the most enthusiastic when it comes to tracking back
Poor team selection last night has not only cost us 2 points but given our rivals a massive lift, with a derby game at Goodison coming up, in fact with the last ever derby game at Goodison coming up that sword of Damocles is now dangling above our heads, another performance like last night and our seemingly unassailable lead could be halved within the space of 3 days.
Lets hope Arne doesnt come to regret handing that team sheet in yesterday for the rest of his life. The title looked done and dusted Sunday, it's certainly not now.
