I was aginst Rafa being sacked. Over the weeks I'm watched Roy and he's doing a creditable job.

I WILL NOT jump on him after 2 games and start slagging him off as some of you are doing despite the fact I was upset by the circumstances of his appointment. We've got the guy and I'm sure he's living, breathing and totally insomniac thinking thru various scenarios of formations, players, transfer targets and at the end of the day, reality. He was appointed what 2-3 weeks before teh season started ffs?

Its a tough job, he's a competent manager, he's a genuine man.

Get behind him you girls' blouses and give the lad a chance.

Fair play mate  :)

I wonder will Andy Gray be sucking Roy's balls after this and still be praising the system, which is quiet literally redundant in the modern game. We got swamped in the midfield from the outset.

someone remind he where we finished in the league in Rafa's first season.

you've set yourself up here Kewell

Rafa won the CL in his first season and then improved in the league and got CL football in all of the seasons we were here (bar his last)

no i haven't lad, IN THE LEAGUE we were awful..5th place we finished and struggled to get results against the likes of HULL.

Hull were in the prem in Rafa's first season?  ???

look, he gave us the Champions League for Christ sake, how do you think Roy would fare in that competition?

You'd have sacked Rafa for his league finish in his first season

Top 4 for a club like Liverpool isn't something that should be talked about, it should be expected, a minimum - Rafa won the competition that every team strives to get into

no i woudn't have sacked him, my point is he was given time.

whats your minimum expectation of Roy this season then? before you'd sack him I mean

By definition, Rafa had to win the title last season to keep his job. Top four wasn't even good enough for many. Now suddenly the goal posts have been moved and a top four for Roy is more than good enough. By this logic, if Roy fails to make the top four, he should be sacked. Thems the rules. Rules set by the ridiculous aspirations of our board.

Reg I think most here are behind him but sadly he is limited in what he can do. With so many teams outspending us just what do people really expect him to do? It's a task too far imo.

Carra has no legs anymore,Skertal is good but not great,Johnson is ok, no left back of any note apart from Aurelio.

In all fairness though, we have had a tough start. Arsenal then Man City. I find it funny how teams like Man United and Chelsea get a nice cushy one. The FA give with one hand by handing our first game at home for years and then take by giving us a top 4 side to play against.

City, on that performance, are going to be a challenge for all the top sides.

There's no excuse ... We are Liverpool FC ... at least we should have min of 4 points ( beat the Gunners and draw with Man City)

Its all to much for me now. Over and over again I hope things will change but they never do. I cant be bothered to state what players we need because people aint blind. I just hope when the new owners turn up they have the fans interests at heart.

I look forward to our first win against West Brom :;):

FWIW if we beat the teams that are below the top 6 we should be fine. It was the lower teams at Anfield we struggled against. Winning the league means beating the lower sides home and away. City pooed on us today, thats the be all and end all of it but if we can be consistent against the lower sides then hopefully we can at least get the CL football back at Anfield and move on from there
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Why are people going back to the previous manager to slate him ?! He is no longer manager of the club and wasn't in charge of the players out there tonight and he didn't set up the players at 4-4-2 , he didn't move the defenders to man marking - he is no longer manager and is manager of another club now . Hodgson will be judged by results on the pitch and he hasn't had a good start and has got a massive job on his hands but there is still a long season to go .
