I dont think anyone being honest thinks a front six of Spearing, Kuyt, Adam, Downing, Henderson and Carroll is anywhere near good enough. I wouldn't be unhappy having none of those six at the club. Each of them scream average. Its our transfer dealings that have been a major disappointment. Kenny is doing a great job in terms of training, manmanagement, and how we want to play, but this progress is being cancelled out by the ordinary new personnel. The new methods are a step forward, the new signings are a step back.. so its the status quo.
Kennys methods AND quality signings would see us firmly competing against anyone, unfortunately the signings havent been good enough. Gerrard, Lucas, Maxi, Bellamy, Suarez (and quality new signing).. would be our strongest six.
