BC Sport's Phil McNulty at Eastlands:

"Obviously words can't fail me or I would have a major problem - but this was the sort of match that could reduce you to that. Shocking. Awful. Mediocre. Miserable. There are others but they may be for another day. Rotten - there's another one."

I was watching that feed on TV.  I was like "what the hell is this guy talking about?  Did City not get a point for the draw as well?"

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Skrtel MOTM for me.

Other positives:
- Torres is back but get less than 2 passes?
- Benny is back and looked dangerous. How I wish Lucas and Kuyt have his touches and dribbling skills.

Because the performance again was awful.  We never looked like winning and created nothing.

We may not of lost but I expect better than this rubbish.

this was never going to be a football match with so much at stake, so lets move on and look at the positives, two of our better options going forward both came back which will only make us better for the remainder of the season, the fight starts now.

I'll take a point though away to Man City, it could have been worse.

Not worse than the performance though which was absolutely abysmal (as usual).

Not the highest optimism regarding the performance today serving as a catalyst for better things....Even so - it remains a useful point.

We weren't breached and we didn't lose the match.

Next game, there is something here to build on from the bones of this.  We'll see.

City have had a lot of money invested in them and have some top players. I honestly thought today was going to be a bad day of us especially with Torres and Yossi not at 100%. A win was always going to be a stretch too far mate as nice as it might have been.

I wouldn't be that happy with the result as it was acheived by a very poor performance ,again.

We have Mancini to thank for adopting conservative tactics which helped us secure the point.

We are an alehouse team now looking to scramble a goal simple as that. I think with the players at our disposal we can create something better than that and both entertain and pick up points.Unfortunately the manager will never see it that way and so it will run and run.Clearly its results at all costs with absolutely no regard for the traditions of the football club or the paying public but Benitez is what he is and thats what we asked for and are stuck with now.
